Thanks Olaf, had the chance to buy a 76' LPC in Sweden last summer and didnt do it
How is the Edwards compared to the 76'?
Ed JS:
medium neck size (somewhere in the middle between slim and fat), weight is 4 kilos, SD pickups (you may like them or not), Gotoh hardware, mahogany body/neck and maple top. Ebony fretboard. Frets are medium - close-to-jumbo sized or so
'76:
maple neck, mahogany body, maple top, ebony fretboard. Weights >5 kilos (a PITA on stage), also SD pickups (SD6s - like the Edwards). very slim neck, (I've installed) jumbo frets, I've also installed Schaller tuners (which look like Grovers) and new bridge (swapped out the Nashville bridge for a ABR or so).
The '76 is pretty special sounding, very aggressive I would call it (lots of bite), the Ed JS is more like a "standard with custom looks", although the fretboard is flatter than a standard, but not a typical flat fretless wonder fretboard.
A "real custom", like the '57 ObG Reissue sounds much warmer and fatter (bottom end) with all the mahogany (neck, body, top) and esp. the fat fat neck. IMO the size of the neck makes the biggest difference in sound when it comes to LPCs.
