I've always wanted to get their explorer or maybe a les paul but I'm worried about the shipping costs and various duties for bringing it into the country I really don't think it would be worth it.

I know there are a few sellers on ebay that have extremely good shipping rates. Not sure about the customs duties. I walked mine right through customs without a hitch, along with a Japanese Tele that I bought on the same trip.

I played just about every Edwards made when I was in Japan and they all were great. If I didn't already have 4 Gibson LPCs I would have bought an Edwards. There were some really nice ones there.
Awesome!
I'd love to be able to try some more models of Edwards guitars.
The only Edwards guitars that usually pop up on eBay are the LP's.
I was suprised as hell when I found my Snapper on there.
Made the purchase in a flash.

Aww the Snapper Gas :aww:
You might just have some PRS SE Korina GAS soon too. ;)

BTW I read your post over at HCAF, but I couldn't be buggered responding because of that abomination that is HC2.0.
I took your advice though, hence why I'm here at RT now.
Can't believe I'd never bothered checking it out before.

On The Gear Page several people said these were made in China, and set up in Japan. I am not in anyway putting them down, I had an Edwards white Les Paul Custom that sounded and played really sweet. I sold it only because the neck was just to big for me, I prefer medium (1960) sized necks on my Les Pauls. Anyone know more about this?

I get so freakin' tempted to buy a Snapper every time I see yours Gavin!

Gotta go slow on the buying for now though :aww:

I hadn't heard that one before.
Maybe someone can chime in with some more info.
But all I know is that each Edwards guitar I've owned has outperformed other guitars twice and three times the price.
I really regret selling 2 of my other Edwards LPs!!!

Are those Triple Shots on the pickups? Nice!
Although I don't usually dig the faked-relic thing on guitars, that does look kind of cool.

Some of the woods are cut in either China or Japan and some of the Electronics are from china, mine said made in Japan as a large percentage was made in Japan other wise they would have to say Assembled in Japan, or if made in china made in china.

I talked to a guy in the ESP Custom Shop in Tokyo when I bought mine and he said that they were made in/around Tokyo at a different factory than the ESP standard models.

Damm, those look cool. I've never played an Edwards and i need to. I never want to spent big money on a Gibson again but i have to see if the Edwards will feel like the real deal.

Regarding the production of Edwards, from what I gather from talking to one of the top ESP dealers out there, it's the Grassroots series that are made entirely in China. Edwards guitars use wood that is supplied from the drying rooms of ESP, cut/finished in China and assembled/setup in Saitama, Japan.

From what I heard just cut in china any more and it would have to say Assembled in Japan.

I will have to email them.
Not that it matter but this whole argument is boring their great guitars :D
