effects board - fractal, NDSP or other??

The VP4 does not have analog dry through so it will digitize your tone 100%. Many people think this has a negative effect on your tone and dynamics.

Running it in a parallel mixer lets you always have an un-digitized signal. You get a more pure analog signal, but you lose the ability of using the series effects like compression, gate, eq, and tremolo.
which parallel mixer would you use?

I know you didn't ask me but I would suggest the suhr minimix II for this specific use case because with an external switch you can mute the dry or the wet signal and thus you can use the parallel mix feature for some patches or going in series in other where it is required (e.g. when using a compressor fx in the loop or a tremolo effect).

Have ordered one :)

The problem with the MiniMix II is it does not output in stereo. If you are running a stereo effects unit you cannot get the stereo sound back into a stereo power amp.
