I hope I like this thing. If not, I'm going to smash it

Learning curve for sure, download the free Rigs off the Kemper site and have at it!

Cool. Are these pro made profiles? I'm not interested in Fender cleans. Fender cleans can go pound fucking sand.

LOL. It probably can't. I just don't play clean.

Dude you went full crazy on the modeling huh? You sell all your amps? Stoked to hear what you think and HNGD!

I love mine! Look at Tonehammers profiles. You gotta pay for them but they have some great DI profiles as well as merged and studio profiles. Also SinMix profiles looks to be promising as well.

Please post a vid of you smashing it, if that is the route that you choose.

Thinking of going this route myself...but don't wanna smash it either.

LOL. I'll try not to smash it. I got to cool it with gear after this.  Got an Amplifire and a Q12 Matrix. So impressed with the Amplifire tone that my MKV just doesn't sound as good anymore. Sold the Rectifier. The CLR I had sounded too hi fi for my liking. The Q12 sounds astounding. More amp cab like. I'm going to order another one of those. I have a friend that has a Kemper. He's been on my ass for a year to get one. I am on the list for an AX-8 as well. I'll see how I do with the Kemper. Got this thing for 2k or so with the remote.

Now I've had a shit ton of the modeling stuff it the past and there's a reason I don't own it anymore. The last modeler I bought was a L6 Pod Pro HD-X rackmount. Tried it with a Mesa 2:90, a Mesa 20:20 and a Roctron Velocity 300. That was a couple years ago or so. I gave up on modeling after that. I have a Line 6 Amplifi 150 for grab and go, or whenever I want to give my ears a good beating.

But after hearing clips of the Amplifire, I had to try one and I can't believe, with solid IR's how good the thing sounds. I am a very percussive metal player. I like to hear pick attack, not mud. I have a very sensitive ear too. To me, this is the best sounding thing I've had so far, as far as the little subtleties you hear out of a tube amp. To me, it's almost as good as a tube amp. I'm pretty fussy with what I want with tone. I was about to give up on the Amplifire as well, till I bought the Mesa 212 IR's from Ownhammer. That brought the Amplifire to life. Solid purchase for $15 and more than enough IR's in that one pack to do what I need.

Glad to hear you like the Q12. I just ordered one to amplify Positive Grid JamUp and Bias, which I've been tinkering with on my phone.

I had an AFXII years ago and didn't like it, but I don't think I gave it a fair chance. The Positive Grid stuff was cheap and has been sounding great to me, so I'm starting to get back into modeling.

My rig this weekend. TERRIBLE tones. ;)

I wondered if that was you at a certain other location :D I come here once in a while and see you posting.

Congrats on the incoming! I would dig trying one of these in person but I can almost guarantee my head would explode

I wish it came with a paper manual. Can't stand reading tech on the computer screen. But I'll probably print it out.
I'm probably going to lose my shit with it. I love tech and deep editing and at the same time despise it sometimes.
I lose my mind programming TV remotes. Wife does all of that thank God. It's probably because of my job, software. After a day of dealing with software problems, I don't want to read shit.

Cool! Really want to hear your opinion on playing this live through a power amp/cab and comparing this to the amplifire. Really want a great modeler but it HAS to deliver live through a cab for me to pull the trigger.

Man dude, once you get used to it this shit is great. I DLed 3 banks of presets for the Axe that some dude did up, and barely even tweaked em....just adjusted volume on some of them, changed delays etc for recording and my guitars, and go. I don't tweak at all, just play.

Stoked to hear what you think of this thing....I know you were a modeling hater awhile back, glad you found some shit that works for you. One of the coolest things to me is being able to play stuff I don't have here in my apartment....Friedman Smallbox sim, bunch of Bogner sims, Fryette stuff....it's cool once you get bored with something to be able to light up a new sim and mess with that for awhile. Interested in how you think the Recto stuff stacks up.

Have fun! Lots of great fun with it and it is easy to use. I tried 3 times but couldn't get it to do what I wanted live. All good though! Great to have all of these options available.

Meh. The Kemper is okay but it's no ISP Theta that's for sure. :D

Well I don't have a power amp / cab. I have the Matrix FRFR Q12. This little thing packs a F'N wallup. I have it set at noon. I put the Amplifire on 5% and it's too damn loud. Have another one arriving Wednesday. Matrix told me they have a FR12 coming out that is much lighter than this thing.

Now, compared to the Atomic CLR. I could run a marathon holding this Q12 over my head. It weighs nothing compared to the CLR I "had".
They said the Q12 is better for people that tend to beat on shit.
