Hi there! Here's a new little vid i'd like to share.

Sascha joined Thy Final Pain again. Here we are tracking some of his progressive Ideas with his out of tune guitar Miced Guitar in the second half of the Video. Check out the description in the Vid for further information.
Cheers,
Simon

Sounds good thanks for sharing!

A bit woofy though on the recording dont you think?

Powerballs seem to be very hard amplifiers to record. I know Romeo used his on the latest Symphony X album. He-retracked the entire album with DI's simply because he did not like how it recorded in his home studio.

Sure, it's woofy. These are just the raw tracks :)
With a little eq it would be quite usable, i think.

Here is one more take (Studio Monitors /cam sound in the room)

I used to have one of those amps. Some cool lead tones in there and the cleans were good. The savage 120 I replaced it with was way better. Recorded better, better tones across the board. Channel 4 of the savage was better than anything the PB could do.

I believe the savage voicing would get old after a while. I really enjoy the german/european type of voicing that the powerball carries. There really is no engl that is better than the other, just different styles and tastes. It is possible to get great recorded tones with a powerball but it just takes more effort after the amp is recorded and with more attention to room mic's and mic-placement/mixing/tracking/filtering.

Yeah, Engl has something special, fascinating going on in the Sound - and i like it. I tried most of them and had a few, but they are just a little too sterile sounding, for my taste.
