There is nothing better for a Savage than the ENGL Pro cab. That cab is so dang good it is scary. I tried Mesa and Marshall, but the Savage and the Pro are leagues ahead together. Makes all my amps sound grest actually, especially the AFD100.
I don't even have the space or the cash for one at the present. But I will NO doubt have one eventually if I keep my Powerball 2 long enough (LOVE it... but being a gear whore who knows how long I'll have it). Best cab I've had to date was my Uberkab. Curious to see how the Engl stacks up against that.
The powerball II is insane too I spent about an hr with it at my local GC Playing through a stilleto cab and it was really sweet sounding. I wish I had the cash for one as it would be heaven having both...
I definitely love mine. I suspect that many of those who dog the Powerball are doing it based on the first version. Honestly, I wouldn't trade my P2 for my old XTC, Pittbull, Triamp, etc amps back. So far it's my favorite of all that I've owned.
At any rate... I will admit that I'm definitely curious about the Savage, Invader, and SE heads based on how happy I am with the Powerball.
I'll have to remember this as I tend to be a "lazy mic'r" and just put the 57 right on the cone of a bottom speaker and roll with that. I also plan to pick up an e609 or e906 at some point and record that to a separate track than the 57 stuff and mix & match stuff. Been recording acoustic stuff with my SM81 all this year, so I have to get back into rock mode in regards to recording at some point.
LOL... did I just freakin' manage to stuff the word "stuff" into two sentences THREE times??? (FIVE... if you count this one!)
