Yeah I thought about that too, but if I'm going to spend that much money, I might as well get exactly what I want. With the shipping and taxes and shit it's still going to be crazy expensive.

Half the cost of the custom shop model is not what I'd consider crazy expensive.

Just a bolt on EXP? Those weren't custom shop I don't think. A lot of older ESPs all had the custom guitars stamp on the back before there were stamping them with Standard Series.

I've got a black EXP myself.

I've also got an older Custom Shop MII. It's basically a KH2 before they were a sig guitar but it's got 22 frets, different input jack location, and horizontal inlays like a Zorlac.

Ouch man... I gotta agree with Reza... just get something more standard from Brad... I've owned ESP Custom shop stuff and it was NOT worth the price tag at all... and to be perfectly honest I can put you in touch with 2-3 private luthiers that will build you a COMPLETELY custom guitar that is out of this world for thousands less... and only about a month to a month and a half wait time...

ESP standard Horizon = $1700 or so.
That's a $3800 paint job man!

Same thing I thought. I'm into my current stable of two ESP Eclipses and one Ltd Gus G for a grand total of $2150. I LOVE 'EM (have owned over a dozen ESP/Ltd axes), but dayum... I'd have to draw the line at $5K for just one (custom or no). But then again... I wouldn't pay more than that for any American-made axe or boutique amp for that matter either.

custom shop eclipse, neckthru with maple cap and scraped natural binding, not the veneer like the standard series.

Mmmmm... I'm just a total sucker for Eclipses. That one's delicious! Awesome quilt.

IMO isn't the Jackson Soloist as good as these without the ridiculous prices/wait times/screw ups? Made in the US also..
