Ever had a magical amp experience???

CAA Classic+. Never tried something like this. Had to bring it home.

I have a 1974 Marshall that Friedman modded. When he let me know it was being shipped back to me, he told me it was one of the better ones and wow was he right. Played through old Celestion creambacks it just nails the tone I seek.

A '69 metal panel that a local GC had was glorious but they had it tagged twice it's worth. Talk about Guitar, cord, anything you want with volume and tone knobs.
A '62 Bassman into a 2x12 with unknown speakers. Total ripping flamethrower with a Les Paul. Better than any 50watt NMV Marshall I'd played.
A mid? 70's Univox. Magical because I had no idea what to expect and got an amazing cranked plexi tone out of this Japanese monster.
I think some of the amps I have now could be magical but until I get into a house and can turn them up without an attenuator I don't know. Apartment living, when you no longer play in bands as a volume outlet, is the absolute fucking worst when you need to rock….

My first took a while to get. I tried a $*%( ton of amps and finally decided on letting Jerry at FJA mod my 5150 head. I was nervous as shit, but when I got it back and plugged it in for the first time, it was like I had uncovered a mythical thing that I'd only ever heard stories about.

My second was a Diamond Hammersmith.. Like an FN moron I sold it to fund another amp that was supposed to be amazing... well the replacement will be on ebay soon and I'll have another Hammersmith by New Years.

yes, anything with a tube rectifier, well...at least my Fenders. My little V16 Palomino really caught me by surprise too.

Boosted 800 through a pro rack, back in the 80's. It was like the voice of God.

A buddy's Diezel Herbert. I had never heard anything like it in my life, and knew I had to have on immediately; that's how I found Rig-Talk.

Mark's stuff has absolutely floored me on multiple occasions, but the biggest WTF moment was an amp he called the Custom 75.

The Custom 75 was laying in a corner of his house, with a makeshift face plate, and spider webs inside.

He says to me, "hey dude, take this and check it out; let me know what you think"

It was a Friday night, and I was going out, so I didn't plug it in until late the next day....in all my years of playing, that was probably my biggest single holy shit moment....absolutely blew me away....mostly because this unfuckingbelievable amp was just laying in a corner, with no real plans to see the light of day.

I posted up clips of that thing back in the day...wish I still had them....

Jaw dropper, for sure.

had a Peavey Deuce VT. Ran a home made Fuzz Face clone in front of it and cranked it up. kicked in the built in phase shifter and good freaking grief. Tonal nirvana. I should have never sold it.

Fortin/Gower Killer Kali++!!!! Frikin awesome amp!!!

Rockstah Mod 5 modded Marshall 68 Plexi clone the "Holy Grail" best amp I ever owned.

don't laugh,.

PEAVEY XXX...hated it,..so I didn't care what happened to it,....replaced the bias trim pots for twice the range,..adjusted the bias way too hot,....endless liquid sutain with no fizz/hiss or anything but awseomeness,..6L6 power tubes lasted 4 days with the volume past 3
,...but what a wonderful 4 days it was,..i would hurry home to play this thing,..a very, very underated amp you can snag the trucker girls for around $300-$400

When I was at a blokes house selling him my old 78 Hiwatt dr103.
Played very very very loud I was like h.o.l.y. Xxxx
Didn't want to sell it him then but a deals a deal and I had a mint 75 at home too..
First time I experienced (what I think was) proper amp "bloom".
Unbelievable sound.
Should have brought some drive pedals haha

Best sound ever, My dime bag rig mixed with my Diezels. I accidentally hooked up my mxr doubler and furmen pq3 to the front end of my modified vh4 and diezel herbert thru my voodoo amp cabs with dimebags speakers in it. I was Golden. I wish every Gig i could take it all with me.

Didn't get to play through it but near 10 years ago heard a Diezel VH4 and was pretty impressed. Sounded massive. Ive owned a Bogner ecstacy, a Soldano SLO and VHT pitbull classic with EQ and was still very impressed with the Diezel.

So supper old thread.... but I played an amp this past weekend that warrants being on here...
I got to play a Bogner Uberschall Rev Blue, the thing that made this so special is that it was made specifically for Neil Shcon by Mr bogner himself.

HOLYSH1T. Best amp I've ever heard or played on. HANDS DOWN. If I only had 2,000 cash on me I could have bought it... .damn mortgage and truck payments..

Tim Rose used to have XTC #3, white chassis and all. It was just glorious. Ball to the Wall tone,... unbelieveable. I bought an XTC right away. Didnt sound anything like his. Sold m.ine and bought an Uber

mine was a with a bone stock right off the shelf fender deluxe reverb. I was at GC and they just came into the room with a 58 59 and 60 strat that were beat to shit, they just got at the trade show. The older employee sat down and cranked this amp and the whole place went silent and everyone stopped and walked over to the center of the room. It was the best guitar/amp sound iv ever heard.
