I have $600ish into mine and, other than the fine tuners on the OFR, it's more accurate and probably more playable. Though the one on the VH album jacket has a Mighty Mite clear bobbin pickup. Jalen makes a pretty decent replica of that now.

That is beyond silly. But I bet some die hard VH collector junkie will buy it.

Well this is exactly what i mean, with nowadays market you can pull off at least a 99% accurate copy of any Eddie's axe for under a grand. No need to pay over 18k for the experience!

Sweet axe btw, will you make a thread of it when it's ready?

EVH never even liked that guitar.
I guess that some people are just so bought into the guitar voodoo that they're ready to sell their house for a "authentic" reissue of a guitar with dated features.

Oh, that was years ago. I've gigged with this one plenty when I had a VH tribute band. I think that pickup in the photo was an AT-1. I had Pariah make me an EVH Frankenstrat knock-off in white when I learned Fender/EVH was never ging to make one in white. This guitar slays. It's a real EVH striped series body and neck. All I did was the headstock paint and Charvel decal (bought on Etsy), Floyd and pickup. Since Ed retired the Bee after the second tour, I don't think an accurate copy needs any relic'ing. He had a tone pot in the cavity and I think the first one had black paint on the back of the neck. But I didn't care about that for a tribute band/gigging guitar.
