I liked the cheat lyrics for 'Mean Street' taped to his pedal board, pause the video at 1:45 :)

' my tastes constantly change ' but I'm still playing the same licks and the same songs i played 30 yrs ago...

What a load of marketing crap.

That was pretty funny!

I still want a 5153.. hope to pick up a 50 watter one day. I really like the sound of the green channel opened up..

i dont think you guys get the importance of this video, this is (at least to my knowledge ) the first time he has demoed anything!! Thank God too cuz i was really getting sick and tired of Chris Cannella's demos.. i think this proves these guys read the forums..

I've modded a 5150III to reduce the gain and it turned out beautifully. They're definitely gain monsters.

I dont know....I love mine. Its a great amp. Nothing for me to bitch about.
His video was cool. But playing the amp in person....its awesome.
Well one guy said its a Friedman Brown eye amp inside the 5153 shell. :hys:
Man the controversy never ever ends.

I guess I'm in the minority in that I hate channel 2 on my 100. It needs more gain. And yes, I plan to mod it soon. All of the Stealth clips I have heard sound great. I also think it's funny how the 5150 III was considered a killer amp last year on this forum, and now I read a lot of hate for it.

5153 is a killer amp and IMO if you can't get it done on the 5153, well then........

I think there might be a market for a USA custom shop made, hand-wired version of this amp in the $3500 range.

Exactly!! They finally wised up and got the guy who's name is on the stuff to do the demo. I love my 50 watter and have found that low output pickups are the way to go. I'm guessing the same for the stealth...

Yup.....I play my Kamikazie with EMG's in it thru the stealth. Then the Jackson with a Dimarzio.
The Jackson sounds way better thru this amp.

Have one, gain monster, blue channel rips. Red is even bigger sounding.

^ that's sounds a little odd. Mega endorser EVH asks for a new amp, and they say no? And he'd leave or go outside of Fender to have Dave build an amp? Sounds strange.

Demo video was awesome. Cool to watch him play, but needed to be longer.

According to Dave Friedman and John Suhr (confirmed by Dave and several of John's master techs) when Eddie finally got sober he didnt like the sound of the 5150 III amp. He then went to fender and told them he wanted a new amp or change it and they said no way, the amp is a huge seller and very popular , so he had someone mod it 2 weeks before the tour. They then marketed it as the stealth because it sounded good and saw an opportunity to make some more cash. All the (my tastes are constantly changing crap is just them making an excuse for it's existence because there were many people very pissed off that he has yet another signature amp)
Dave did say if Eddie does do a hand wired signature amp that he has first dibbs. That would be great!!

Like Mario says in Super Mario 64 : Here we gooooooooooo!!!!!!!!

those who own the reg 100 watters,
just do the gain mods i posted on another thread and you wont need the 100s.

simple mods and easily reversable.
snip one leg of r26 and piggyback a 220k to r25 to equal 100k.
this will increase your ch2 gain.
