The beginning and end are amazing metal chaos but the real gold here is this extended “Floyd” type, mellower section in the middle.

Ya, Hangar 18 has got some crazy leads in it, while Tornado is a bit cliche'... it still rips though. He has the best phrasing ever .Everyone always says tornado of souls is his best solo but ALL of his solos in Hangar 18 just are just a whole ball game above tornado . Literally every lick is original and from outer space
I love tornado I just never understand where the lore came from. Hangar solos are my fav every even . So much crazy phrases . But ya. I love all MartyYa, Hangar 18 has got some crazy leads in it, while Tornado is a bit cliche'... it still rips though.
With all that said, Chris Poland > Marty Friedman.I love tornado I just never understand where the lore came from. Hangar solos are my fav every even . So much crazy phrases . But ya. I love all Marty
Agreed. I think the leads in Hangar 18 maybe get overlooked because they’re just too brief each one. They’re not really full length guitar solos. Same imo with Holy Wars. Some of those Mediterranean sounding licks he had there were awesome. And those awful leads by Mustaine lol only contrasted to make Marty’s leads come off that much better, so thanks for that lol. Mustaine’s leads were maybe even more vapid than EVH’sI love tornado I just never understand where the lore came from. Hangar solos are my fav every even . So much crazy phrases . But ya. Not for me at all . Though I love chris solo albums playing even more than Megadeth , he’s a beast !With all that said, Chris Poland > Marty Friedman.
Man I think the brief thing is perfect senseAgreed. I think the leads in Hangar 18 maybe get overlooked because they’re just too brief each one. They’re not really full length guitar solos. Come on man, Mustaine's leads aren't that bad. He's got that chaotic let er loose kinda vibe going. I mean the main solo in Holy Wars is Mustaine's and it rips, also his lead in Wake Up Dead, that lead kills as well, the one at the end of the song. Another good one, The Conjuring. Go and listen to that one. That's the most evil solo in existence.Agreed. I think the leads in Hangar 18 maybe get overlooked because they’re just too brief each one. Thought it was Marty for years until I saw a live clip. Dude rips for sure.I mean the main solo in Holy Wars is Mustaine's and it rips.
That's the most well constructed and memorable lead on the entire album! Take that!also his lead in Wake Up Dead, that lead kills as well, the one at the end of the song.
No Marty doesn't play with that kinda aggression and chromaticism. I love how that solo builds at the end, it's pretty epic.Thought it was Marty for years until I saw a live clip. Dude rips for sure.
It's very memorable indeed. I think my favorite off the album is probably Chris Poland's solos in Good Mourning/Black Friday though, the sparse melodic lead at the beginning and the one where he shreds his ass off towards the end. That's the most well constructed and memorable lead on the entire album! Take that!
