I've been playing since 84 and I'm just so beyond glad I'm not stuck in one era of music.

So are we! I don't think your input to this forum would be nearly so valuable otherwise.

So you speak for everyone on here now. Interesting.

No, I guess I don't. I'm just disappointed you never treat us to any of your musical stylings based on not being stuck in any one era.

I've posted plenty of bands that I like when this place was more active. Some of that music wouldn't fall into the 80's vibe that is now predominant here. But like I said a lot of the people who are more open minded don't post here much anymore so I figure it's a waste of time.

I think he's talking about you posting your own playing, not bands you like...

80's vibe that is now pre-dominant here? By now do you mean since RT started in 2006?

Oh that old comment..... so I've got to post clips of my playing to justify my tastes in music. :jerkit:

There used to be guys like Pete Laramee, Shea, and quite a few others that posted here that were more open minded. Yeah this place has always had guys that were big fans of the 80's.... nothing wrong with that but it is what it is.

Did I miss the post bout Joe's modded Marshalls?? What's going on with his amps...who modded, what was done??

Joe just has some early 70s 4 hole Marshalls modded by Jose A. Been his main amp for decades. Using them in W/D/W setup with the Lexicons and Rolands is a huge part of his tone as well.

I thought I was going to really dig it, but I spun it a couple times and haven't listened since. Not really clicking for me. :aww:

The Lexicon is just in the insert loop as a gain boost believe it or not. Not used for delay - it is a big part of his sound though...

Steve, can you recommend any clips on You Tube that are the definitive JH tone?

I wish. All there is for me is the memory of the show I saw. The YouTube clips don't do it justice...

Check out his Farmikos vids... tho they are studio footage, you get that JH tone!! Love the dude... and very cool as well.

Joe just posted this on Facebook. Glad to see it seems like he's psyched to continue writing new stuff...

"Hey everyone it's Joe
I'm starting to write for the next album and want to know what your favorite track on this record is?"

Please refer to above. Only 4% to possibly 23% of his live tone. Currently under debate. I think it might have been negotiated to being a solid 18.787%. I think any spandex and aquanet evidence may sway opinion on this.

I listen to this disc quite a bit and have had the downloads as they came out. This is the best stuff around in quite a while!! Good to see Joe doing something and of course I would love to hear him play some modern version take on the 80's style of playing and even a few instrumentals thrown in there, but I will take what I can get!

And as far as his tone!! It destroys and I agree with Steve on the Ozzy tone. You cannot base it on the YT clips. Seen him 4X with Ozzy and 1X with DLR. His tone was massive!!

I get that the Farmikos disc isn't going to be everyone's thing, but for me it's a great album. Killer playing and great guitar tones. I love AIC and Soundgarden... So this album works for me. I'm happy to see that Joe is still at it. Personally, this disc is in heavy rotation. It's very similar to the type of music I write. Just much much better. Lol
