I've never heard of that but would discard it since the site the Israelites were encamped at the foot of Sinai has been located, as were the pillars that were set up, as were the altars to the golden calf. All those biblical sites can be viewed on youtube, posted by numerous people. I see stuff like you are suggesting as a way to explain away the God of the bible and what are logical, moral commands for a society to become a productive culture. But I'm curious, are you familiar.with the Burning Bush Theory?
Shanon suggests that biblical accounts of divine revelation may have been induced by the consumption of entheogens—psychoactive substances used in religious or spiritual contexts.
The theory centers on the Acacia tree, which is native to the Sinai Peninsula and frequently mentioned in the Bible. Some species of Acacia contain high concentrations of DMT (Dimethyltryptamine), a powerful psychedelic compound. The Mechanism: Shanon proposes that Moses may have inhaled smoke from a burning Acacia bush or consumed a brew similar to Ayahuasca. Ayahuasca typically requires a combination of DMT and a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI); Shanon notes that Peganum harmala (Syrian Rue), which contains MAOIs, also grows in the region.
