Favorite Ozzy guitarist

Jake and Randy. On any given day, with my mood this is subject to change between the two honestly.

That's a tough one... Randy was a bit before my time, as I just got into rock and metal after he died, and my first real album that I bought was Bark at the Moon when I was 13, so that album is special to me.

But.. Randy and Ozzy were a much closer writing team, and the songs better stand the test of time, so I think I have to give the nod to Randy.

The live version of Mr. Crowley from the Tribute album is one of my favourite guitar solos ever, but Bark at the Moon is right behind it. Jake (and others at the time) really got screwed over by Sharon and Ozzy. Bob Daisley's song "Now you see it, now you don't" has a such a great story behind it, considering he wrote it about Sharon and it still got on the album. Jake still plays it with Red Dragon Cartel and it's awesome.

Zakk... I don't know, his solos never really spoke to me like the others.

Randy...because of Mr Crowley and Diary....

I love Jake's playing but I think the songwriting is weak on that album...so Zakk is second because of No More Tears and No Rest...

Jake, and I'm a huge Randy fan and loved early Zakk. But "favorite" for one simple reason...if I'm honest with myself, I like Jake's songwriting better. Overall I listen to and play his Ozzy era songs more than Randy's. I just can't play Crazy Train one more time in my life, but somehow still not tired of BATM.
You pretty well took the words out of my mouth.

Lol so no Tony Iommi lovers?
Different category.
When folks say Ozzy they assume His band.
But technically my answer is Iommi(given) then Rhoads,Jake,Gillis,Holmes,Zakk,Gus G.

Yeah thats true he is like the Father of Heavey Metal guitar

Randy of course followed by Joe except Joe has not recorded anything so it would be Jake!! Love Iommi, but do not consider him Ozzy's guitar player. More like Ozzy is Iommi/Butler's singer!!

Seriously?........Randy is simply a given. It's all about 2nd, 3rd etc.... for the other dudes!

Randy (easily as mentioned)
Jake
Zakk

In that order.. it is simple really. Jake wrote some awesome awesome tunes and solos though. Randy just has the edge and his live playing and persona on stage was huge for such a little dude. Don't forget Zakk also kicked major ass on No Rest for the Wicked. He had some killer chops. Liked him up to Pride and Glory and then the rest is a significant decline in composition and skill.

Yeah, Iommi for me and it's not even close really.

Why? - His style, tone, riffs ect. was a perfect fit for Oz's voice. They are, or were, Sabbath for a reason.
