I saw and heard Trump’s own words with my own ears and then I saw the media spin those words into something that was a lie so I said something about and some of my friends didn’t like it.

I also heard Trump say he was going to release all the Epstein files, multiple times and then I heard and saw him deny their legitimacy to the same people who he asked for votes for, which is a lie, so I said something about it and now Trump fans don’t like it.

I’ve remained the same the entire time; I saw something I perceived to be a lie and I called it out. My integrity does not allow me to ignore Trump’s lies just because other people lied about him. That’s not logical and shouldn’t need to be explained to an adult.

If you had integrity, you wouldn’t need someone to explain to you why you should call people out when they go back on their word.

Did Trump promise to release the files? Yes.

Did he go back on his word? Yes.

Did I change anything about my stance during that time? Absolutely not.

Did Trump change his stance? Yes.

But shit, his kid married Epstein’s financial advisor’s daughter so maybe he’s going in through a back channel and he’s gonna take all the bad Epstein types down that way…….shit, is Qanon still a thing? What happened to all that?

I had high hopes that things might actually get worked out but the actual results we see are exactly why I've never voted. Seems pretty obvious to me that Trump is just another guy who had a lifetime pass to little St. James.

I think the failure to follow through on the Epstein deal was a turning point in terms of the level of trust anyone puts in the authorities, which, surprise, is at an all time low now. I guess it could be chalked up to "just another politician lying" but we are talking about more or less protecting a worldwide human sex trafficking ring and who knows what else, which had ridiculously close ties to the levers of power, by not following through.
