My Aviator custom showed up in the states 9 days ago. I got a notification of Customs delay then after 5 days I called and got a standard "they will call you to get some paperwork". I was promised that they would call me the same day but didnt. Called the next day and got the same answer so I found a number to the customs brokerage at FedEx. Turns out they had the wrong phone number and misspelled my name in my email address. So anyway I got the forms filled out and gave them paperwork for the Lacey act on Thursday Jan 6th. I got an email later that night stating they should clear it and ship it the rest of the way in 24 hours. Monday I called the main fedex number and they told me customs has 24-72 hours and to check back tomorrow. Called today and got the same answer. So I called the other fedex number and the rep told me that they listed my PO box as the delivery address instead of the address I specified. They corrected it and I got an updated delivery date of tomorrow by 1pm.

So to sum it up if you have a customs hold dont bother calling the main FedEx number. Google FedEx Customs Brokerage Assistance contact and call that number. Had I not called the main FedEx number I would have had my new guitar last week. I hope this saves some people some frustrations.

Same issue here in December. My guitar sat in customs limbo for three day so
I called fedex.it was a Saturday if I remember right. The guy said they had everything it just needed to clear customs. He asked for my number in case there was any issues and I’m sure glad I gave it to him because Monday a guy from customs called,Asked what wood was used and said it’ll be cleared that day.

I had to give them a form from the shipper but thankfully Aviator had one ready to send me. I'm hoping next time if there is a next time will go smoother. I have a Mayones Duvell being shipped at the end of this year but I am going with Chubtone for an Explorer build and if I do anymore customs I'm going to try to source someone in the U.S.

A lot seems to depend on where the item goes through customs. In my case, when I’ve bought used Greco LPs they come through Chicago and after a day they are on the way to me. 5 business days from Japan.
