I put a set of these in my strat around 3:00 this afternoon. I'm just now putting my guitar down.............roughly 4 hours later

So you like them that much, eh?

What do you like about them over the stock pickups?

At first I had the stock Robert Cray set in there. Don't know much about their specs. Sounded good but just a little too smooth and lacking some midrange for that nasty sounding Texas style blues. Came across as more of a jazzy sound to my ears. I also tried a few other bridge pups trying to make the strat something it wasn't meant to be (Dimarzio Virtual Solo and Duncan JB Jr.). Since then I went back to the stock Cray pups. Then today I threw in the Fat 50's and it was just what I was looking for. Sounds great in all the positions. I play a few gigs with some guys who play Texas Alt-Country and blues and these pups shine for that style. It is what a strat was meant to sound like IMO. But probably not for most guys on here.

Agreed 100%. I had them in my CS strat and they're amazing pickups

Are you able to post clips?

I love my Am Dlx Strat, but never completely fell in love with the SCN pickups. I feel like they lack that twangy, punchy, signature strat sound. I'm not saying it's completely absent, but they are just a little too "modern" for lack of better terms. I think others on here have said the same. It's not that they're bad pickups, but just not ideal for what I'm looking for.

I feel the same way about the SCN's in one my Fender strats. In some ways I like the stock neck and bridge in my other MIA strat better (once I adjusted them up a bit from where they were).

I have always wanted to try some Fralins or Kinmans, but they are expensive. Usually Fender pickups are pretty reasonably priced.

I can do it this weekend. However, I feel the same way about the SCN's. I had 2 American Deluxe strats and thought they lacked the signature strat sound. I also had a Mahogany strat with Tex-Mex pups. The Fat 50's are not even comparable IMO. They deliver pure, twangy strat sound. And they are darn near as quiet as the SCN's
