I’m thinking of swapping in cream rings instead of the PMS system. It’s a PIA to adjust the height.

I really like this. I’m torn with it not having pickup rings. I tend to like either, but with black I love the look of cream rings.

Glad you posted that, I was considering the PMS for a Star/banana build I'm doing but I'm gonna stick with a ring. I think it looks better with rings too.

And good call on the dots for that roasted neck. I got a roasted Maple neck and just muscle-memory-clicked 'black' dots on Maple...shoulda been clay.

They’re (PMS) probably fine for most people. I am too OCD with tinkering with PU height.

Dude, you have no idea. I have little mini screwdrivers anywhere I play in the house.

Do you age your hardware yourself, or buy it that way?
Aged it with a peroxide/vinegar/salt mixture. You can only age nickel though. Chrome doesn’t work well. The model for a nickel Floyd is FRT-400

Me too. It plays and sounds so sweet. The yellow is one of my favs of this style guitar I've played.
The neck on the black one is pretty much spot on with the yellow one. Same profile, just not roasted

Nice Scott, I like it best with the pickup rings!
I’m now starting another in bright red nitro. I’m going do an Ebony board on this one with cream rings and pi’s. I’m going to paint this one though

Looks great. How does the roasted alder sound compared to regular alder? I have noticed that roasted maple necks tend to sound darker than unroasted.

It’s hard to say since this one has a roasted body and standard neck compared to roasted neck and standard body. But is my experience with necks, roasted seem a little brighter. With this one with the roasted body I do feel it resonates more
