So last night was my new band's first gig. Two long sets on a weekend, and I'm BEAT today. But man, what a great time. Took me a good 45 minutes to shake the rust off (It's been a year since my last gig), but the tone was spot on.

This was my first gig with my Bogner XTC. I'm just blown away by how good that thing sounds. No mods, stock JJ power tubes, chinese 12AX7s. Just monstrous tone. Clarity for days. A Les Paul into a Bogner XTC is just pure tone heaven.

This was also my first gig with my current board setup. Just got the TC Flashback X4 the other day, and it worked out great live. Board signal chain is TC Tuner > Buffer (under board) > Wampler Comp > Rehoused Boss PH1R Phaser > Rehoused Boss CE2 Chorus > Wampler Plexidrive > Amp.

With all 3 channels of the XTC, and the high/low gain modes, I didn't step on the Plexi Drive once (despite it being a fantastic pedal). Might use that space for something else...

Footswitch was custom made, machined, and etched by my buddy Rich (Lublin here on RT), but I used super-bright LEDs, and had to cover them up with tape for this show. Blindingly, retina burning bright. Going to sort that out soon...

Congrats, nice rig too, close to what I use too. I want one of those Foot controllers Rch built for ya, that's sweet. Stock sucker is way too big. Bet your tone was killer! XTC is just the most versitile amp on the market in my opinion. Good luck on your future gigs.

Nice quality gear man. Where did you play this show?

It was at the Exchange in Rockaway. Great selection of beers on tap - very strange stage setup. But a great night.

Killer. Les Paul Custom into 20thA. XTC is my go-to tone at the moment.

Rich (Lublin here on RT) was kind enough to record, and post, a clip of me hacking my way thru the solo to Sweet Child O Mine.

Again... First show jitters, ironing out all the kinks, shaking off the rust. A few bum notes in here, but you guys can hear the amp at work.

thanks Rich!

Congrats on the setup! I have a 20th Anniv XTC with 6L6 (thanks Bob) and love it! It has been a very nice surprise. I had tried an XTC about 8 years ago and was a bit intimidated early on. Over the years I have come to understand what I want and what fits my playing. The XTC matched with my Bogner OS 2x12 is just fantastic. I love all the channels. It can do heavier tones much better than I ever thought it would. I have an Anderson Classic that has very low output pickups. It sounds great on all channels. I recently pulled out my Wampler Pinnacle pedal and played it through the celan channel. Very cool vintage strat tones.

Seriously, just a great album across the board. I have four main guitars that all do something a little bit different. This is the first amp I have played that covers the tones I want without sacrificing anything. Not one of the channels is a throw away.

Great rig and great tone man. Love my Ecstasy Classic just such a great versatile amp. Any mods to yours? I did the Cameron mod to mine and it has the ab/a switch, old/new switch and full/half power switches on the back. I did a pretty crappy shoot out between my Classic and 3 Randall modules. A Sacred Groove XTC LE, Stock XTC and Salvation Ecstasy and they sounded great and very versatile but nothing has that Bogner power amp sound. You may have done the Faceplate for one of my modules. Anyway congrats on playing out again and the great amp and tones. For me there is nothing like a Les Paul into a fine amp.

I'd have to agree on that as well. It's been so inspirational, I can see hours blow by and I'm just sitting there with my mouth agape in awe. Love my 20thA.

To the OP - so stoked this came together for you, rock the shit out of it on the next one. You'll be well greased in 5 minutes.

Peace Gents!

Nice rig. I want one of those flashback x4's. I didn't know they were released yet. Where did you get it?

Guitar centers are getting them in here and there... Managed to score one from a north NJ store.

But you're right. Most retailers aren't getting the till the 23rd.

Why did you get a custom footswitch made?

Just for size reasons only. The stock one is huge. And I don't use the loop or stby buttons. I figured ditch those, and make a more compact switch.

Great rig, great tones coming from it. You probably have something to do with that Nick :D

Congrats!
