I have never modded or built a pedal before but I do have some experience with soldering and electronics. I would really like to combine the Klon Centaur and JHS Morning glory circuits into one pedal with a switch to change the pedal order and to also add the shamrock mod to the klon. I will be posting my progress in this thread but first I am seeking some advice on how to best approach this. I've done some initial research and found pre-made pcb's for each of these circuits. Are there any recommendations for where to get them? I was looking on axionfx at the Refractor and Cerulean boards. Also, are there any pedal wiring guides or resources you can recommend?

What are the best potentiometers to use for A100K, B25K and B100K?

I think I have all the parts figured out now. I've ordered everything except for 4 items that were out of stock.

I wish I could contribute but don’t know anything about building these circuits but looking forward to how you do. Please post pics when you start putting it together 👍

I most definitely will! My plan was to use this thread to share my journey. So far i've just been talking to myself...lol

I have been thinking about what a good name for this pedal could be. So far my idea is "Divine Spark". I'm definitely open to name ideas though!

You might wanna think again about calling anything Divine around here 😂

Damn right. Name's already taken:

I found the 2 circuits already but these are great! They are designed to be 2-in-1's. I'm bookmarking that page!
Have you joined the PedalPCB forums? They are very helpful and active with this over there.

If I was going to give some advice ...... it would be to join the PedalPCB forum like was already mentioned ....

you can learn a shit ton from checking out other people's builds ... trouble shooting etc .

The boards they have for sale are top notch .... and I still will occasionally use their boards for a one off project .

Aion effects has maybe 1/4 of the boards ..... but also top notch stuff ...

Pedal PCB doesn't fill in as many " blanks " in the Build Docs as Aion does though .... the build docs on Aion's site are over the top great .

There is some cool stuff over at Madbean Pedals also

As far as your first pedal build ...... I personally wouldn't be looking to do a two in one right away .... it's going to give you some lay out issues to deal with as well as switching .......... and just a heads up ... the Klon's Footswitch varies from a normal True By pass footswitch setup .

I would build the pedals separate ..... then just run them into each other on your board . Especially if you plan to use a " Klon " circuit .... it's probably the best pedal to stack with because of the way the clean signal runs parallel with the overdiven one .... so you're going to want to try other drives in front of it ...trust me

but that's me ................. I hate giving advice on anything on here ..... I don't know your experience .... I know you mentioned you know how to solder which is great ... but there's a lot more to it than that if you want the pedal to sound and look decent .

Thank Griff! I have been looking at the PedalPcb forums. I guess I just want to challenge myself instead of going for the easy route. At the end of the day whether it works or not I will have learned a great deal! I was a C130 Flight Engineer in the US Marines so I do have a technical background. Ive also built and repaired many computers, repaired tube amps and repaired various electronics. Im hoping that will be beneficial as i learn to build pedals. Honestly, and not to sound cheesy but you inspired me to do this griff. I saw your work and how good it was. It made me want to try it. I'll be happy if the thing doesnt blow a cap. Lol
