I bought this Caprison Horus Custom Line (24.75" scale) about a year ago. They have stopped making this model and I searched for regularly forever so when this popped up I jumped on it. It plays and feels great but it's always had a high shrill to it that I could not shake. I tried multiple pickups, maybe 7 or 8 sets and it sounded good, but at times it'd have this high pitch shrill to the upper notes and sometimes lower register too. Pretty damned disappointing.

I read somewhere, I think on here, about trying a low output pickup. So today I installed a Tom Anderson H2+ in the bridge and Dimarzio Air Norton S in the neck. Lowered the pickups a hair lower than I normally do and BAM, shrill gone !!
The H2+ is not exactly low output, but it is definitely medium output, middle of the hot range scale of TA pickups.

So fucking happy...been sitting here jamming on it for an hour and it sounds fucking great. It still plays like butter. FINALLY got the shit together, great sound and playability.

Here it is with its newly appointed H2+ and Air Norton S.

Super sick guitar! Always liked the Tom Anderson pickups and really anything by Tom Anderson. Congrats on your solution!

Very nice! I had a h2+ in a strat, years ago. It was too dark for my liking in that context, but I liked everything else about it.

Always wanted a horus, such cool guitars.
