holy shit Kip Winger has pipes and just flat out smokes just about all the silly ass singers out there currently!

Agreed. It's a shame they got lumped in with the no-talent hairbands. They can really play AND write good songs.

Ya I love songs 3,4,5 for sure. Guess what is gonna ship tomorrow if you send me your fricken address! I lost it!

I like a lot of pop "crap" .... look at my link in my signiture. I like some of the winger stuff. ..... your braver than me Jeff.

I just found out about this album today. Have listened to some samples. Sounds incredible.

I thought Pull was a great album as well. I never heard IV though.

FWIW, my good friend Marc got thanks on the album for helping Kip out with software issues. :)

yeah, when the geek from beavis and butthead wore the winger shirt, and the cool characters wore the metaliica shirt-it knocked them from mtv and the rock scene

First time I saw Winger on MTV's Headbanger's Ball, I thought Kip was a pompas ass... but from a musician's point of view, they're a great band. Love the band now, see them every chance I get, everytime I've had a chance to meet the guys they've been great.

Stewart's shirt should have said Poison. :D

I need to buy this but I am still old school when it comes to music. I like to go to Best Buy and grab the CD. I am just not a fan of snagging it off of iTunes or Amazon but I guess I don't have much of a choice with this one.

Ya he just got a bad rap for the band cause...I ain't afraid to say, was a damn good looking guy who twirled around and sang his ass off! The band just kills and Kip's writing is stellar. If you listen to deal with the devil...Kip does the famous scream he always did. Just love the way he sings. Have I said that yet! Right now it's been playing non stop!

Back in 1992 I got that Guitar World album - "The Guitars that Rule The World!"
It was my first foray away from Metal and Grunge and into instrumental soloing.
The very first track on that is Reb Beach - Black Magic

It was my first - "Oh my gosh somebody is better at guitar than Kirk Hammet :scared:!" moment

Edit: I just noticed - At the end when he's talking about his guitar he says he likes EMG pickups because they're "very quiet" and "very loud." Exactly!

Using Koa and Pau Ferro back in the 80's has to give him a little bit of cred. Better than a neon splatter Jem in my mind.
I didn't know it until today, but he's kept the vibe going with his Suhr - http://suhrguitars.com/artistModels.aspx?series=rb

I agree. He is a great songwriter with great chops. If only he would have stayed away from that Don Johnson beard and all the twirling around and posing on stage with his bass.....but it was the 80s after all.......

Seventeen is still one of THE BEST guitar riffs ever written - this is a universal truth, no matter what you think of Winger the Band..... ;)

kw is a sick singer. only heard clips so far from the new one (apart from that song with the loooong reb solo).

but iv is a masterpiece. i.e. the first four songs on iv ...

.

Agreed... a lot of talent in that band, and "Seventeen" is a sick lick... but it was that song and that video that made them look like the headbanger incarnation of Gary Puckett and The Union Gap. :D

Winger is a great rock band. There is just way getting around it. Kip is one of those singers who sings high, but doesnt sound like a p*ssy (cough) James LaBrie (cough) when he does. Reb is just sick in terms of both playing and tone.

This a band with raw talent and live they are amazing. And Karma is an awesome, awesome record. Reb's PT100 sounds ridiculous on it as well. Jesus.

True. Oddly enough, these same qualities never hurt Jon Bon Jovi.

I just ordered it. I heard the clips and they sound good enough for me. I should have it Tuesday which is the same day that the new Devin T disc should be shipping out to me!

My copy of Karma is in my mailbox according to Amazon. Looks like I get to rock out tonight. I have Addicted coming in on Wednesday.

Reb Beach is an AWESOME guitarist.
If you don't not own the Dokken album (Erase the Slate) that he played on....... stop reading and go buy it NOW :rawk:

He plays great on that album :worship:
