Great connection! Loomis is probably my favorite guitar player. I love Nevermore! The Arch Enemy stuff is good, but he plays too much of a backseat role there. Not sure how many people realize he just released a disc with Alcatrazz last year which has some jaw dropping guitar moments.

George Lynch made 2 identical Tiger carves out of Northern ash with the esp dokken buckers full blown beauties for me to use @ all future trade shows which this one has the 37mm Block that he loves and asked to keep in between shows so he can play and record many projects like the end machine and Sweet Lynch record besides the new lynch mob record that's soon to be released. Still think it's snake oil?? lmao..

I've been using these Stone Tone blocks for a little while now and I have to say, they certainly are different than any of the other sustain blocks I've used.. my current arsenal includes Fat Tungsten, Fat Brass, Nickle plated Brass and now Stone Tone... I have various sizes of each block and have been an avid Floyd Rose user since the late 80's. The Stone Tone block has better note articulation, separation and clarity and that only seems to increase its capabilities with a larger block. I am hooked! Great product and I'll be ordering more in the future as I have seen that Jeff Loomis and Chris Poland (two of my guitar hero's) are using these and offer signature blocks! Wow!

Cool ! welcome to Rig Talk.. Post some pictures..

Funny revisiting this thread after all these years 😂
Thought some of the longtime Rig Talk members might appreciate this shot of Chris Poland, George Lynch and Jeff Loomis.
Definitely more of a blooper reel moment than a serious promo pic, but honestly that’s what made it great. Everybody was laughing and having a good time because Glenn LeFerman always knew how to get everybody smiling and keep the good vibes flowing.

Most recently Rusty Cooley also came on board with a Stone Tone setup on his 7-string Dean using the low-profile Floyd Rose Pro Series bridge.

Photo credit also goes to Glenn LeFerman, who did absolutely phenomenal work for me over the years and worked alongside Floyd Rose for over 40 years. Glenn sadly passed away about seven months ago from pancreatic cancer and will truly be missed by many.

What started years ago as me hand-building blocks in my small shop has grown into a full production operation with dedicated manufacturing capability to help keep up with increasing demand while still maintaining the same tone philosophy and attention to detail that started this whole journey.

I genuinely appreciate all the support over the years. Thank you guys.

One person I definitely have to mention when revisiting this thread is Tom Henning.
Tom followed this thread for nearly two years without making a single comment. During that time there was a lot of skepticism, criticism and plenty of people calling the Stone Tone block snake oil without ever actually trying one.
Then one day Tom finally chimed in and basically said:

“Not one of you guys could spare the $80 to actually try one before bashing it? Guess what… I bought one.”

What made that moment important was that everybody on Rig Talk respected Tom because he always told it exactly the way it was — no BS, no hype, no politics.

So when Tom came back and posted his honest conclusions after testing it acoustically and amplified, the thread suddenly got very quiet.

Here’s part of what Tom posted after installing the Stone Tone block into his Floyd:

“I’m gonna be honest here and say that as a scientific kinda guy (electrical engineer), I was pretty skeptical about the science behind this block and I really wanted to prove that it was just bullshit to get people’s money.”
“Well… regardless of the actual science, the bottom line is that my subjective opinion after playing with and without plugging in for awhile is that this block has made the MOST significant change to my guitar than a block of any other kind, and I’ve had the big brass ones and the Ti ones.”
“Without plugging in, the whole guitar vibrates in your hands so strongly when you strike a chord, it is almost disturbing… It feels like it’s ALIVE or something.”
“Based on my testing, both chords and single notes sustain MUCH longer than with the previous Ti block.”
“The guitar FEELS much different - the vibrations of the strings through the body and neck are unbelievably stronger.”
“The guitar is louder in two ways:

1.) Acoustically.

2.) Electrically.”

“When I mic’d the tracks into my DAW, you could see the waveforms were larger and the tracks hit higher on the meter with the Stone block and NO changes to the amp settings or anything else at all.”

“The enhanced vibration makes the guitar feel really alive.”
“It sounds throatier and chimier than a Ti block.”
“For me it is definitely worth $35-40 more than a brass or any other metal block.”

That original review and the discussions that followed became a major part of Stone Tone history and helped introduce the product to an entirely new audience of players.

What I didn’t realize at the time was just how many people that thread actually affected. I received hundreds of emails and messages over the years asking questions about the performance of the blocks, the science behind them and the overall tonal differences people were experiencing. A lot of those conversations eventually led people over to my YouTube channel where they could hear and see the demonstrations for themselves.

Looking back now after all these years, I just wanted to say thank you again Tom, and thank you to everybody here that supported Stone Tone through the years. Your professionalism, honesty, open-mindedness and willingness to give something unconventional a fair shot meant a lot and is still appreciated to this day.
