So im flying out for a gig in Texas this weekend and obviously cant bring my diezel rig. (even if i could, im not trusting the airlines!) I do however have a line 6 head that i could take a chance on...
Any reccomendations from experience? I may just see if they have a pod or something. I was just gonna see if i could bring the line6 head as my carry on....

Which L6? The HD147 would probably work for carry on. Doubt a spidervalve, vetta or duoverb would. Have you considered renting a head? If you're in Austin you can swing your dick and hit 6 shops. I would go that route as opposed to lugging shit on a plane.

Actually it is a HD146.. haha...the thing sounds like garbage loud. I should just rent a marshal or something... probably too much money though. Any experience that you guys have had or trouble with bringin stuff on. Obviously i need to bring my guitars too..

I like fly-ins for the experience of getting to see other places/countries...but the airlines suck for bringing your gear.
Electronics as carry on could bring a lot of hassle. I brought a PodXT Live on a plane as carry on and the security at the metal detector made me plug it in...then started looking for tools to take it apart (could be a bomb in there).

I now bring a cheapy good-playing guitar for cargo (I had an expensive guitar 'lost' in cargo a few years ago) and a Tonelab LE placed in my large clothing suitcase (wrapped in towels).

This is what im worried about. Them telling me i cant bring my head on the plane and not knowing what to do with it.

I wouldn't take any heads on the plane unless it is in a ATA flight case. You might be able to get away with taking a guitar on the plane, which I've done, but doubt a head.

Rent man...You're probably looking at $75 for the gig. Well worth it. I've had some flight attendants be downright assholes w/ the two guitars I brought on once (had a double gig bag). Fit just fine up top. But they almost made me check them. I was like fuck no...unless YOU want to insure $7000 in guitars. (I sold a couple of guitars to a friend, and I happened to be travelling there the next week). And I'm a frequent flyer with Platinum status w/ AA, and they were still assholes!
