Do you put them on the rim of the speaker before installing, or leave them off? I wonder if there's some kinda tonal difference with leaving them off and having the speaker have a more solid connection to the cab? Hmm...

I bought some newer V30's, 2024 and put the foam pieces on, then installed them. I then immediately took them out and put my old V30's from 2006 back in (no foam). The old speakers sound a million times better and more 3d. You think that stupid foam had anything to do with it or am I over analyzing things?

If you're lucky the extra included rear-gaskets (for front-loading) are not needed, because hopefully you have the much more desired and better sounding rear-loaded cab.

I have no idea what you're even talking about. I just bought a quad of new M65 Creambacks and I didn't see any extra foam this or that...

Celestion has recently changed their packaging. Newest speakers come in brown boxes and come with gaskets for those who are front loading.

Yeah this topic came up awhile back also. Seems that they had quit including them for some time and/or with some models.
Back in the day, at least until the mid-2010's era they always had them in every new-boxed Celestion that I ever received.

Photos? Are these included in the box or are they installed on the back of the speaker flange in case someone front-mounts?

Current Vintage 30s comes with extra foam gaskets for front-loaded cabs. They're the same as in this pic:

Yep those were always standard back in the day. I purchased V30s several times spanning different box looks too, and they always had the gaskets in quarters just like the photo above.

They are really thin too ...cheapskates. They should give you gaskets that are the same thickness as the factory gaskets on the front side of the rim.

When I removed the front loaded Eminence speakers from my Krank 412 and rear loaded it with V30s & Vet30s I used gaskets. Just made sense at the time.
Google says "The gasket reduces any potential rattling/pinning and helps create a seal to direct the sound in the correct direction, preventing any sound leakage."
