Footpath Etiquette

So my wife and I went for a walk around our suburb and when people approach us we go single file and keep left (This is Australia after all)… Well this man and woman were walking towards us today two abreast and the bloke was right over my side and the two of them were taking up the whole footpath and I suspected he was not going to move. So at the last minute when I could tell he was going to hit me I braced with my shoulder and knocked the stuffing out of him. Then surprise surprise… he wanted to make out it was my fault. I said ”mate I couldn’t have been any further to the left do you think I should jump off the footpath while you two walk two abreast you f’er (again this is Australia lol)…” and he walked off. So I don’t feel like a very nice individual in some respects but the entitlement of these people that think people should just jump off the footpath and make way for them. He’ll be nursing a nice bruise I reckon judging by the impact.
I dunno, I think you did right shoulder checking that wallaby. The tell tale sign was he acted like you were hogging the whole trail. Like when a dude is asking to get punched in the nose then you do it and he tastes the blood then it's all "what did you do that for?!?!"

I'm just surprised the trails in the outback have this many people on them. I thought it was mostly remote and uninhabited.

BTW don't listen to PaulyC. He's a democrat without anything good to say.

Trails in the outback lol. All of the US is like Death Valley right? Well yes on a humanistic level I did right but not exactly sure it's what God would have wanted me to do - hence my guilt trip about it.

reading this thread made me feel horny.
so rugged...
Wanna fuck?

Me personally…I like a little confrontation occasionally.

God would've wanted you to put yourself 2nd and let the guy hog up the trail and be a jerk. Never do anything nice and expect to be thanked for it when it's something you should be doing anyways. Not that many people say "thanks" or "excuse me" any more. Fortunately since I live in the Texan part of death valley there are still a lot of people who know how to act respectful, just not with their high beams at night!

Actually another thing... In Australian English, Trails is "tracks" ;-) However in this case it was a footpath!

I guess I was his servant and delivered him a sore arm ;-)

meh, hold your line. That's what I do. Not worried, since I conceal carry; if I'm anywhere unusual, I add a slingbag PCC to my everyday carry.

2A is an American right and responsibility.

I was walking a trail recently stupidly looking at my phone (probably rt), and I looked up and saw this guy with a fat head running right at me a few feet away. I hopped to the side, but wtf if I hadn’t? ???

If the Good Lord wanted you to be a jellyfish he would not have given you a spine.....

Dear Forum-I was feeling frisky so I put on my bigfoot suit and went for a walk. Ran into this couple who were trailhogging....so I immediately took the man in front of his wife to assert my dominance. The whole time his wife is yelling "ME NEXT BIG DICK..errr I MEAN BIG FOOT!!!"..... ?

I was just telling my wife that I like this place except for it’s severe lack of erotic fiction

While you aren't wrong, sometimes it takes more of a spine to stand down than it does to start throwing punches.
true....but sometimes you have to throw punches. eg.- "turn the other cheek" has been a term that has been used and abused forever. Plus it has been used to indoctrinate generations of Christians into being passive. It basically means the first one was free....I dare you to do it again. Different times and languages. Much has been lost in translation.

Yeah, message to warvangelicals — Jesus was a pacifist (Although according to the book he will come back with swords coming out of his mouth and shit to kick some serious ass)
