I was jamming out to Alice in Chains' Facelift on a boom box with my sister's boyfriend one week. Then a week later he's forgotten all of it, and comes strolling up wearing Jeancos with pockets so big he could put a math textbook in them... talking about how badass and tough the sellout Snoop Dog was. That shit wasn't going to fly in my house.
Thank God we had a decent rock radio station back then. It was a weird time being the only kid in my neighborhood sticking to my guns (rock). But I was vindicated when nu Metal blew up a few years later, and people started to realize they had missed out on five+ years of great 90s rock.
And it has to be said: Kurt did NOT kill himself. They made a shit ton of $ off that guy. In any case, imagine a world where outspoken and playformed Kurt is still alive and arguing with Zoomers on Telegram and about pronouns and tranny rights. I shudder.
