Wire $3,100? You won’t have any recourse in the event of an issue...

That is Mike's business model and one he apparently plans to stick with. He told me if he loses some customers because of it oh well, he doesn't want to deal with the potential of credit card charge backs.

Interesting, I guess if someone agrees to pay that way they must understand all of the risks associated by doing so. To each is own.

Wonder what happens when his business partner has trouble building and supplying amps? Zero recourse... again, if someone is willing to pay that way, it’s not my business. Mike seems to be a stand up guy so there shouldn’t be much worry.

I'm against taking money until ready to ship. Any business with a sound financial foundation can afford to start production without what equates to a Kickstarter.

I dont mind paying half up front and half when the amp ships. They are definitely unique when it comes to their business model(payments, no standard amp line, etc). I would love a Cali but by the time I organized my finances to buy one they will be sold out so Im not going to even bother. I love my Zuul and I will more than likely buy some of the other pedals this year but Im a bit put off by the limited edition model. It just creates a sense of urgency for gear to where its almost a 3000 impulse buy. Hopefully they will get to the point of Friedman, KSR, Splawn, etc with a standard line.

I don't think these white tolex amps will be exactly flying off the shelves...

I’m kind of glad it’s white, otherwise I’d probably be buying one

I’ll wait for a black one

  I think I am in the minority here cause I have a white cab and no white head lol... I'm thinking of getting one just wondering if a 100 watt version will come down the road...

I had a white 5150 III 50w head. Felt like it wanted to turn yellow just looking at it lol... I got rid of it (not for that reason), but I was never fond of the white.

I posted on facebook but I'll try here too - can someone define "active" effects loop? Does this just mean it's not switchable? So if there is nothing plugged into the jacks, is it bypassed out of the circuit in any way? It just seems like an effects loop permanently in the circuit is poor design, but I'm no amp designer!

I'd also like to know what the footswitch controls are.

Oh shit, I take that back... I have a white 5153 50w also but I hardly play it and forgot about it lol. I feel ya on white turning colors though. The 5153 is still white but yeah i'm sure it won't end well eventually... Kind of like how white/ivory PC's all turned yellow lol. Oh well.

Active means it’s not a passive insert style loop, it is either a tube loop or an op amp based (IC) loop, like the Metro loop or the loop in a Splawn.

What does merchant loyalty mean?

The CC companies are loyal to their customers first, it’s what gives us buyer protection, which means the seller (merchant in this case) gets screwed.
