Thanks for those who posted vids. Yeah the Recto, Uber, and Mesa Mark all sounded really cool with the pedal. I didn't like it with the Framus at least in these examples.

Grind ordered!
I'll report back on how it works with OR100 & Dmoll

What was the result with the D-Moll? As a Dmoll owner I am very interested.

It works awesome with the DMoll
I'll try to get some quick clips together

On another note, I tried it with a DSL and did not like that at all... Didn't spend a lot of time tweaking but yuck, bad combo

OR & DMoll were glorious though!

If I did it again, I would not be as aggressive on my low cut on the MXR. I never did love that pedal with DMoll, probably should have used the 808x for comparison. Anywho, here it is...I like the quad tracked of 2 dry + 2 Grind

Thanks for taking the time on that. Yeah, guitars were low in the mix but it sounded good to me. If you ever get the time, a demo showing just guitars and turning Grind on and off would be awesome.

hahah my girlfriend bought me a grind for xmas unbeknownst, it showed up today.

I think it sounds great but wish I could tailor the mid a hair.

might have an issue with mine, when setting the amp to a pristine clean with the grind on its minimum setting there is a weird crackly intermittent distortion. ruled out other pieces of rig. can someone else confirm whether or not theirs does this so I know if i have a bum unit, thanks!

Damn, that was so cool of her!

As for the self noise, a friend is currently borrowing mine in Pennsylvania, so I can't confirm at the moment - however, I don't recall an issue there.

No, that is not normal. My Grind is not crackling at all. Looks like MF is taking care of it though

This thing takes my Hagen and makes it SHINE. Perfect for that amp.

I wonder how it compares to this???

Not sure. Is that supposed to be the same design? Gunna have to look into it, though.

I'd like to check out their FacePunch, too.

I thought the MOR was just a clean boost, as opposed to Grind which seems to be a clean boost with a specific eq (low cut with specific low and hi mid boosts). The FacePunch was actually very similar but had more options than grind...great tone, problem was the white noise floor was raised way to high on that pedal for the settings I liked. Grind is surprisingly quiet in comparison.

FWIW, I was just jammin' hard on the Grind and MXR. With this setting, the sounds are nearly indistinguishable:

I would usually not get that aggressive on the MXR tone, but that is pretty close to Grind. I'm sure other ODs with similar low cut options would get in the ballpark. Grind still has a bit more of liveliness and certain 'something' that makes it more hi fi sounding and better suited for the detuned hi gained aggressive stuff. I'll need to test more against my 808x and see how that goes...

One thing is certain.... Mike is a great guy. I very much respect him and his work.
