Framus Dragon: Opinions?

I seem to remember something about how you can mod a Dragon in to a Cobra with like 1 or 2 component changes

not gonna lie, I was all paranoid at the time that it was going to shit the bed on me. I really liked the sound, and at least should have kept the greenie loaded 4x12. I would like to still have that amp these days.
I bought mine new after hearing KSE use them live, and it was my main live rig for the better part of 10 years. Something different than the 5150 & Mesa setups everyone had back then, and the clean channel was better. I've actually been thinking, I may try to use it with my current band. If it craps out on me someday, I'm sure it would be a nightmare to get fixed, but all things considered; I got my moneys worth, more or less.

I know they used them live, I think they may have played them on Palaces Burn.

I actually cranked up my old Cobra the other day. Fingers crossed; I’ve mine since ‘04 with no issues.
Ya, I believe they used a Frames Cobra on that album blended with a Mesa mark IV. Live you can find some old footage of I believe Will Adler using a Cobra around 2003, all of the live footage I've seen from that time show's at least one of the LOG guys playing through one. Their tone is pretty killer from that era too.

Cobra & Mark IV was what I thought they'd used on that, but it's been years since I read up on it.

I remember seeing the live around that time, they had a cobra on one side and a mesa on the other, I can't recall which one Mark or Willy was playing. Shortly after that, when Ashes came out, they started using the giant walls of mesa cabs.

August Burns Red toured with Cobras for a bit at least, not sure if they recorded with them or not. The Dragon was a cool amp though I haven't played a Cobra to compare and the last time I tried the Dragon was probably around 20 years ago at this point. I will say though it was one of the only amps I ever thought an EMG 707 sounded good through.

They sound ok. Questionable build quality as other mentioned, terrible loop. If you get one cheap they can be fun amps. I had a Cobra for several years back when they were popular. With certain guitars it did sound really good but was very temperamental.
