I've banned Silver Mica's off my builds already 12 years ago.

Same here on the Mica caps, I don’t like how they sound as a treble peaker, I’ve been using Vishay ceramics as well.

However, I find if you use them smart they can be good. For example if you have a spot were some shitty non pleasing highs are generated you can use a silver mica to ground, or B+ to shunt the shit signal, and leave more good stuff. So for peakers maybe not so good, but for things like plate bypass I sometimes prefer them.

But like Larry said, you have to be cautious of those black no-name micas.
