Sounds cool

You need to try to differntiate the sounds of the lead and rhytm guitars.

Different guitars, eq settings etc.

Dial back the ambiance on both.

Gets a little washed out and loses punch.

Thanks and you're right, it could use some EQ differentiation. It was literally completed in 10 minutes. I had the gain too high for the one rhythm track, brought it down to 12 o'clock for the 2nd rhythm track. Panned hard left and right and solo down the middle (w/ HBE mode engaged). Guitar was a chambered LP. Thanks for the feedback.

By "ambience" are you guys referring to reverb? I would agree with that. I think we are all guilty of that because we want it to sound huge but it all becomes too crowded if too much is used.

I have a question about your recording or input level. Did you record the signal hot? Sounds pushed to the max where the input or preamp levels are concerned.

There was zero reverb used on the clip. I recorded @ about -18 db, so not very hot. The amp was about 1/3 of the way up.

Hi se7en,
I know you mentioned it's a demo sketch, but since another poster gave some advice, here's my 2 cents:
The drums need to come up or the rhythm guitars need to come down. I'd start there to get a solid foundation going. You should be able to hear both rhythm guitar tracks and the drums clearly with nothing fighting each other in the mix. Work with that until you're satisfied and then bring the solo in. Make sure you can still hear all the parts with the solo over the top of the tracks.
It sounds kind of smeary now, a little hard to tell what's going on.
Has potential to sound huge, though, sounds cool.
I'd like a BE100!

JiM: Yeah, I realized that about the drums. Thanks for pointing it out. I remixed the clip. I think you'll find this one MUCH better. The first one was just quickly done.

Yeah I really like the BE. It fixes what I didn't like about Marshalls with a smoother, silky high end and more punch/grunt down in the lows/low mids. The feel/response is killer as well...

Yeah, just listened on my iPhone but I can hear the difference!
