Steve, how's this amp coming along my friend. NAMM is almost here. : )
How's the amp coming along? C'mon man, follow along here - I just posted where I am... :D

Steve

If you would quit playing video games all the time this amp would be done.

PS. If you see someone on XBOX Live named Chubtone, he is just an imposter.

PPS. Get to work!

Echem... yes, but how many weeks ago was that? I've seen that fancy vintage game controller you have, Mr.!

Latest Progress - Major milestone completed!

Ok guys! I've now finished my full layout and updated my schematics to reflect the actual design. I've posted several layers of my layout for people to really see what is going on. You can now see on the board wiring which wires go above and which are below the board (you can see this best on the second diagram. If a wire is under the turret, it goes under the board.) With the full layout with all the layers, it is hard to see some things. I'm sure I'll get some feedback from folks and will continue to update these and keep them current, but this is enough theory at this point. I've done enough to convince myself I'm on the right track - its time to get back to building

Here are the updated schematics:

Here are the layout diagrams:

This is the full layout

This shows isolated board wiring, grounding, LED wiring, etc.

This shows the front panel control wiring

This shows just the switch wiring

And here is an actual size board template:

Now it is on to actually getting back to building the amp! While I'm sure there will be updates, this is enough that I can get started. First I'm going to drill and stake my board and test out my relay mounting technique and if that is all good, I'll then go back to wiring/soldering the power section. I'm psyched!

Dude Steve you are a beast! :D That is going to be a sick amp! Can't wait to see/hear the amp when you finally finish it

No kidding! That looks ridiculous. Count me in for a test run if you're willing!

So to build this I should go with a 1969 chassis and filtering because of the added gain? Where we have the 50/50 filters on the top of the chassis.
I was thinking of doing the 1968 12 series kit by metro and doing a couple things, like add the tube and install a push pull master along with a depth pot. I'm thinking the there just isn't going to be enough filtering for the gain on this kit to do it?

on the jose master do you want that .22 to be part of the regular circuit? By putting it there are you just using it to help prevent pops when switching? Was that the original intent or is that cap supposed to be part of the jose mv only?

your not sah5150 anymore youre "cadmaster" I wish I had those skills. Not that I have the time but still.

Thanks man! I'll tell ya - this has been a helluva learning experience. I know have some decent CAD skills - I really believe that having a full scale layout will allow me to more easily realize this amp...

Thanks man - I'm definitely going to put together some kind of test/clip program when the amp is ready...

The .22 is there to block DC...
