Just wondering which of these two will do a tighter bass response and would need more drive in volume?

I had both of these cabs side by side. The Fryette is the clear winner for super tight bass response. Sold off the Diezel cab and bought 2 more of the Fryette cabs.

Thanks alot mhenson... just wonder if you did tried the FB412 with p50es ? If yes which you prefer the FB412 to be? P50es or fanes ?

I hated it with p50es. Worst speaker ever in my opinion. It’s amazing how much better the cab sounds with Fanes. I don’t think I’ve ever played an eminence speaker I’ve like though.

Haha... i been having P50es since my love has grown on VHT... thanks will try Fanes loaded FB...

I have never heard any guitar cab that has tighter bass than Fryette. I'm using a Deliverance 4x12 with P50E.

I was thinking of swapping out da p50es for a celestion k100.... i have no idea how da k100 sound like but am trying to experiment abit to get speakers set to suit best of both world... like i have a collection of Fryettes and recently acquired a Diezel VH4 and Herbert both sound massive in my opinion but due to diezel smooth mids and dark nature was thinking i probably didnt getta optimised diezel tone...

I am currently also looking into getting Wizards too... but i cant seems to get so many cabs as well due to money and space constraint...

I am a k85/k100 whore. I love them.

I have NOT owned either cab, but I am not a fan of the p50e speakers at all.

Is the Diezel loaded with G12K100....??

It'll slay the FatBottom.

But it won't slay the Deliverance 412.

Deliverance is a dopeass cab. Takes aftermarket speakers like a champ too. But the Diezel FL-G12K100 412 is a crushing cab make no mistake.

What head you driving this cab with?? That needst to be accounted for.

My FL GK-100 Diezel cab sat next to my Fane loaded Fryette FB cab. Every amp I owned (including the Herbert) sounded better through the Fryette cab. Dumped the Diezel and got 2 more FB cabs.

Now this is an interesting thread to me. I’ve been really curious about Fanes and found the other thread with the soundcloud recordings of them vs H30 and V30 cabs.

I have a VH4 I’m using with a FL412 K100 cab and was wanting to pick up a V30 version to go with. Now I think I’ll try the Fryette FB with the Fanes instead.

Not familiar with Fryette’s cabs, the Fatbottom and Deliverance cabs differ only in having a center post vs a V brace, correct? Is the difference between the two types of cab noticeable at rehearsal volume?

Yes the cabs sound pretty different from each other...and very different from all other cabs I have tried. The Fryette cabs have much better definition and clarity.

To my ears the Deliverance cab is more vintage sounding than the Fatbottom cab.

Cool, thanks for the info. I see the Fatbottom has an angled baffle as well. Most of my cabs are vintage-y so the FB is the one for me to try I guess.

Different strokes for different folks. I have a D412 with P50s and dig it. I also have a D212 with Fanes and dig it.

I had a d412 and it was the weirdest sounding cab I've ever owned. Sounded hollow with the p50's in it, so I figured it was the speaker. Swapped k85's in it and it still had the same, weird hollow sound to it. Swapped the stock speakers in it and sold it in short order.

Part of me wants to think it was that particular cab, but I don't come across them so I haven't had a chance to try another.

I have tried the front and rear loaded Diezel 4x12s and I have owned the Fatbottom with p50s......Out of the three the Diezel FL would be my last choice, it sounded small in comparison, very little lowend omph. The rear loaded Diezel is a great sounding cab though and would be my first choice, . I'm definitely interested in trying a fane loaded fryette , the p50s have a strange eq curve and although I do like the Fatbottom cab I would prob like it a lot more with the fanes.

The best cab i've ever had was a rear loaded diezel with V30's

I agree with all parts of this statement. VHT/Fryettes are very defined. The Dcabs are a little less directional and have a deeper sound than the FBs (but not as much a rear-loaded cab).

I loved the D412s and FB412s I had, but I did not like the p50s and I never tried the fanes. I liked the Vintage 30s and Neo Vintage speakers in the FBs and I LOVED the Chinese greenbacks in the Dcabs. I have a plethora of clips with the latter.

Since going FRFR I sold off all of my cabs except my one Marshall style 4x12. If I ever get another 4x12 it will be a Deliverance.

I miss my Orange PPC4X12" I had, they don't get much love on here, but I loaded it with British K100's and it was a monster. I still wonder why I sent it packing tbh.

PPC412 with V30's was worst sounding cab in band scenario, too much bass, annoying highs and weird midrange. V30 Fatbottom was miles better. Tight and cutting.
Also curious about Fanes but not enough 'donors' on used market yet :)
