I didn't slander them either... I have no dog in this fight, just relaying a buddy's plight with "they who shall not be named" ...

Not what I meant to imply/direct towards you. I was speaking in general towards my own posts. I'm just baffled as to how my posts contained anything worthy of removal.

I understood that, I just wanted to reiterate that I didn't slander them.

Seems fair enough. People just want some answers if they got money invested/involved. Who can blame them?
If they are simply waiting for a product to come out....and put up no cash....well....

They still owe me a quad of kt88s. Bought them when I had the amp serviced. Within 2 months, they blew. Fryette says we will give u two of the four. Why not all four, I say? They stop responding to me and I'm out over $200. Never again.

I'll never buy anything Fryette...it's amazing to me that people want to lynch Cameron but defend Fryette...Mark defaulted on what ? 15 amps ? Fryette took Kickstarter money from 140 people, and hasn't delivered product in 3 years...but no one is lining up to lynch them.

No one?

I have always got great service from Stevie and Co. . Many people just need something to complain about. Great amps, great service and nice people. 12 calls in less than 24 hours with no response? shame on them? lol Seriously.. This thread should have never been...

No offense here and I have gotten great service from them as well, 3 years ago or more not so much lately....try telling this to the 144 kickstarter backers who paid up front $70,000 + almost exactly 2 and a half years ago for Fryette to build this product they said at the time was almost fully designed and ready for production. Now here were are 2 1/2 years later and many promise broken and very poor communication sometimes with radio silence for 3 or more months at a time. All that and 144 backers have not gotten there product yet.

This thread was made over 2 years ago over some other amp and recently bumped and people piled on after hearing of this...the saga has been going on the whole time in an ongoing thread over at TGP for this whole 2 1/2 years.

The thread on The Gear Page I started and was going to delete. The only reason it is still there is because Steve Fryette asked me to leave it there. Fryette last I heard is four people including Steve. It took them 10 years of development to create the Sig X. Similar time frames I have seen from many small companies for development of amps. Steve is not going to release or put his name on any product till he feels it is perfect. There is no time limit on that. There has never been anything but a estimated time for GPDI to be released. I understand why some people are upset about the time frame....But you invested in the development of a product. Not to have a product build that was already developed. The about five people that have complained about it I take it do not fully understand how Kick Start works. The majority of people who invested have never complained. If you have ever owned a business you know it is impossible to make everyone happy.

I had a UL for many years and had to contact Fryette a couple times. They're response was always very slow. I usually had to send multiple emails before I got a response. The last time I actually tried to buy new nameplates I got zero response. Loved the amp but never experienced the great service I have heard about.

so was the thing actually designed and ready for production or was it just an idea that needed to be developed?? kind of makes a difference.. is there a link to TGP thread??

The GPDI was just recently completely developed. They are in the process of making the first ones now.

There was a working model before they started the Kick Start. There has been several prototypes since then. Everyone agree they were way off with the time line.

They used Kick Start because they developed a loop for the Deliverance that many people said they wanted and a total of ten people actually bought. They wanted to make sure enough people actually wanted it. I don't think they are going to use Kick Start again for anything. They used it one other time before this and not enough people put in for it to be done.

Fryette is doing better now than they have in many years. The financial collapse of 2008 effected everyone. They have other products in development. Several actually and updates coming on several of the current products.

Fryette has gone beyond my expectations to help me more than once.... It was not always when they first estimated.

what a debacle. its amazing how many similar situations to this we have seen through the years from amp companies. i hope everyone gets their amps, especially the guy who wrote this in the KS comments..

Whilst I do appreciate the perfectionism, I was 60 years old when I backed this project and I will be 63 in less than 3 months. I would like to actually use the GP/DI in my lifetime. Will that be possible?

I think it's strange that they purport to be so financially sound...Steve sold the VHT brand name years ago, they have FOUR people working there, they had to start a new product development with Kickstart money, THREE years later people still haven't seen the product ( but the Power Station Rev 1 and now 2 are out), they no longer market the P50E speaker ( I've heard because they can't buy enough of them for Emminence to justify a run), they don't currently make speaker cabs because of the expense ( so I've been told), my friend WAS AT NAMM Saturday and Sunday and tried NUMEROUS times to talk with Steve but was told EVERT TIME OVER THE 2 days that Steve was " unavailable", "stuck in traffic", " will be here later" etc..., has ignored emails and phone calls about all of this... But Mark Cameron is an asshole ? Whatever...

I'm a little confused why Fryette, as a company, would need money to develop a product. That is not a good display of financial solidity. With that aside, I'm a loyal fan of Fryette products. I've liked every head I've had with their name on it, and my UL I have now will likely never leave. It's a bummer to see them slowly drift into the backseat of the amp business. Their popularity is suffering, used prices have plummeted, and no new big products in a long time. I'd like to see a new head.

I owned a Pit Bull Classic in the 90s, was a great amp, but over time it seemed to fade despite re- tubing it and having my local tech look it over, so I sold it. I WOULD, however, give my left nut for a 2150 power amp.
