I think it's strange that they purport to be so financially sound...Steve sold the VHT brand name years ago, they have FOUR people working there, they had to start a new product development with Kickstart money, THREE years later people still haven't seen the product ( but the Power Station Rev 1 and now 2 are out), they no longer market the P50E speaker ( I've heard because they can't buy enough of them for Emminence to justify a run), they don't currently make speaker cabs because of the expense ( so I've been told), my friend WAS AT NAMM Saturday and Sunday and tried NUMEROUS times to talk with Steve but was told EVERT TIME OVER THE 2 days that Steve was " unavailable", "stuck in traffic", " will be here later" etc..., has ignored emails and phone calls about all of this... But Mark Cameron is an asshole ? Whatever...

that whole "selling" of VHT was pretty odd and i remember plenty of rumors about why it was "sold". i remember while that was going on they brought VHT amps to NAMM and had everything VHT covered with electical and duct tape all half assed, it was pretty funny

Money was never the issue. They did not want to make a other product that few people bought. They are selling products as fast as they can make them. The Power Station is the popular product they ever made. Very few people know why Steve sold the name in 2008. All the stories you see about it on the internet are fantasy and speculation.
Steve is not sitting by a phone or the internet waiting to answer questions. He is busy running a business. I know he has regrets about the timeline of this particular product. Last time I talked with him about it he was so busy with everything he wished he had more hands and hours in the day.

The real problem with much of this is people made up stories about several of the issues that many now believe is fact.... Completely made up of nothing but speculation.

Sorry but the real problem is that they are not running a very smart business right now, Steve is brilliant obviously and I don't know who manages the place but they need someone to come in and make much more sound business management decisions. You can't tell me they have no fault in this debacle, sorry! They need more staff and much better management at this point now with the PS taking off and thus putting other stuff on the backburner, because whether that is intended or not the other stuff is on the back burner for sure. They need to right the ship quick before there are more unhappy cusomers because I can assure you there are way more than 5 people complaining or upset. Sorry to be blunt Stephen but something is really OFF with FRYETTE right now. The other 2 guys who were big defenders or apologists of Fryette over at TGP the last 2 1/2 years have recently abandoned ship it seems cause now they are complaining instead of defending lol!

And everyone calls blades a thief even though he puts out product and never ripped anyone. :hys:

I really hope you aren't referring to the GP/DI debacle...that's pretty cut and dry poorly handled by 'they' more so communicatively than just timeline. I really can't have much empathy for them in that respect. Don't bite off more than you can chew. Keep your backers 'in the know' at the very least hence using a crowd-sourced public outlet for funding. Pretty simple.

Also interesting in the time that the GP/DI has been in development we now have a 'Powerstation 2'.

Maybe they could take some of that Power Station money and offer refunds to GPDI backers.

This whole thing has gone full potato. How did we go from Fryette jumping the shark, and now Billy blades is becoming successful. A little mind blowing.

They used the Kickstarter money to develop the PS to keep the ship afloat. But, if the worst happens and they go bankrupt, the KS backers are SOL.

No offense taken sjk. I am not defending Fryette. I'm just saying what I know from my conversations with Steve and others that work there instead of speculation. I agree it is a mess and should have been taken care of in a much better way. I mentioned pretty much all the same things to him that have been mentioned by everyone. His responses were pretty direct and blunt about the entire subject.

The Power Station project started over a year before the GPDI...they only added two small things on the new version. They have released a few products since the the GPDI project started. They are continuously developing and releasing new products. It has been that way since the company started.

I just hope it gets worked out which as I said I think it's time for a new business model, to keep up with the growing sales (it's actually well past that time but there product is good enough that there's still hope they get it done before they crumble)!
I own 4 of their products and hope they can survive.

I was kind of worried myself before I spoke with Steve about it. Much of what you mentioned he has been working on and much more for some time.

For a company that used to be sold by Musician's Friend, to now having FOUR employees seems like the ship is sinking.

Funny that the thread on TGP has been running for 3 years but within 10 hours of me starting the now deleted thread about Fryette's issues here on RT Steve got right on here though, for "someone not sitting by a phone or the internet" and basically denyed everything I said but complained to the mods and got the thread pulled down before 12 hours passed... Truth hurts.

They have always only had a few employees. All of the small amp companies are the same pretty much. It was several years ago they changed to selling direct and only thru a few shops. Companies much larger are moving away from Musicians Friend / Guitar Center. There is a variety of reasons that is happening. Take a look at what has happened with Fender, Gibson and PRS with Guitar Center / Musicians Friend. The amount of money they now owe Fender is as insane as the nation debt.

I only go on the forums about once a week and don't follow the drama.

I'm waiting for Steve to come on here and pull a Roccaforte...

This thread won't get deleted folks .
Just keep it facts and no slander. That's all is asked. ;)

I asked " the powers that be" ( mods named in red ) why the other thread was deleted and am still waiting for an answer...

Likely because your assertions regarding your friend's issues with Fryette were posted by a third party (you). Not saying there wasn't truth to your post, but anyone could just post some negative stuff about what happened to "their buddy" and it just doesn't carry near as much weight and could be construed as potentially slanderous as all the facts may or may not be 100%.

Again, not saying at all that what you posted was false, but just shedding some potential light on why it was canned.

If your friend had come here and posted it himself with relevant facts I don't think it would have been taken down.
