Well I love my axe fx, so i have decided not to sell it and I will just buy the axe 2 also. Then I'll have an entire band in a box. Il
Put one in my touring workstation and keep one at home.

Fair enough, I'm done with it, and I've been raked over the coals (deservedly so) for pointing my gun at a number of peeps over on the forum there. Look, it's LESS about the blindsiding that occured with the launch than it is the fact that every one there is literally a drone bee zealot. It's why I quit that forum long ago. I have gotten nasty emails, pms and threats from Cliff because I was a dealer. If I said anything even slightly negative. I lent him my Eclipse. I've had an Axe since version 3.14. I have lent my Axe out to people to try. And sold tons of them for him. Just a pompous ass. The forum carries the same tone. It's why the sub forum here was cancelled. Just no negativity at all allowed.

That's a load of BS. I like how a guy like Bogner and other amp guy never gets involved in all the nonsense. If you feel that strongly about your product why get dragged into every intetnet discussion, there's going to be negative comments about ANYTHING.

Rumor has it that the metal to make the housing of the new AFII was sourced from the Celestion factory in China...so I'm sure it won't be able to handle the same heat load as the AF Ultra.

I just wanted to be honest with people who asked me about the Axe. If I don't think it sounds just like an amp I won't say it does just to sell it. It does a lot of things great. Some not as great. Just like everything else. There is a reason that the Atomics have tubes.

Yep, not getting involved really is the smartest move IMO. Whatever brief positives there may be seem to always be WAY overshadowed by the negatives, and there are a lot of builders besides Fractal that that has happened with IMO, without mentioning names. It's just the nature of the internet and anonymity, people will behave so much worse than they would face to face enough of the time that it's just not worth dealing with. Sure, have an online presence as far as videos showing new products and stuff, that can get people excited about your brand, but forums? Forums are the WORST, lol

Note to self... if I ever get the Axe-fx II, make sure to sell it before May 9, 2016... ok... done!

Technically since Cliff seems to have figured out how to run multiple processors to handle different tasks... he could already create the Axe-fx III by just adding more processors... Processor 1 handles Amp 1, Processor 2 handles Amp 2, Processor 3 handles whatever algorithm he was talking about over a year ago regarding convolution cabs on Cab 1, Processor 4 handles same Cab 2, then two more dedicated just for effects...

I just checked the local Craigslist and there is an Ax FX Ultra that just went up that is version 11 with a fan upgrade! $2,000!

I've seen two on my local CL. One's $1900 and the other $2K. I've been toying wtih the idea of posing something on there as it irritates the shit out of me that these guys are trying to sell used units for new prices, hoping someone will pay for their Axe FX II.

Even with the axe 2 coming out i find it silly that you guys thunk they are going to drop from 2000 to 500. I bet what will happen is because people expect to pay very little for them that there womt be many up for sale after the initial rush.

I agree prices are not going to drop as much as some think. However I think part of the price drop and where it settles will depend on if there will be future major updates for the Standard and Ultra. Some of the allure has always been its great and will only get better, but if it no longer progresses and the Ax FX II does then like computers it becomes obsolete from a technology perspective. Sure it sounds as good as yesterday, but it will be outdated by what the new one can and will do, and everybody will get tired of Axe FX update/release 26.4 when they are on 11 or 12 and cannot go any further. So the allure of purchasing one of the older units will not be there and price will be driven way way down IMHO

Actually if you look at the completed items on ebay for today , the axe-fx's have been selling for pretty decent prices. I've considered selling off my standard and picking up an ultra, but haven't seen them selling much different than they have been.

I see 7 Ultras which completed for under $1600 which is quite a bit less than 1 week ago. Usually they stayed at or around $1800 so a $200 price drop at this time.
