I’ve yet to meet a modern Christian (which includes the current iteration of PenteCO$Tals) who have even the faintest understanding of the history of their religion. And what’s worse, they’re happy to live in this trained ignorance.

Faith outweighs reality for them, and when you ask them even the basics about where it came from or why they follow it, they turn it around into some situation where their subjective interpretation of what Christianity means to them carries far more weight than the objective facts.

It’s literally a case of a 100 year old, regionally specific cult of Charismatic Protestantism being the global answer to everything.
