a V1 OCD came in for repairs (broken stomp switch) so decided to do a clip like i previously did with the crunchbox, @ 9V and 18V

can anyone hear any difference?
i couldn't hear anything noticably different (in the room and recorded) but my wife reckons she can hear a subtle difference.

pretty much wasted my time, but at least i got to work on my video/audio editing skills

anyone with a V2,3 or 4 care to chime in?

Very interesting. I just may skip ordering that 18V cable from VooDoo after all.

Couldn't really hear that much of a difference. Was the feel very different when playing?

no noticable difference in feel (not like with hte cruncbox/tubezone @ 18V)
it could be a V1 OCD thing thou, as i just saw a site and there appears to be a few changes over the course of version 2,3,4
i do know a lot of people rave on about hte OCD sounding great @18V...so maybe its a V2 onward thing?

i have a timmy and shiba drive here too...ill do a clip of them + a shootout...as i clearly have way too much spare time.

the 18v sounded a touch brighter to me but thats al I noticed. Cool clip

Couldn't hear much difference. On the suhr riot using 18v that thing comes alive. Brighter and more headroom.

The 9v did sound more 'dirty', a bit more focused maybe. I preferred the 18v sounds though, more open like an overdrive should be.

18 all the way. Gives it a little push making an already great pedal even greater. Subtle but there, with response and tonality. Love v1, own this very version and until recently never tried it with another voltage. Glad I did.

In a couple of the changes, I heard a bit of added brightness or top end "shimmer", but that also could have been your attack. Who knows? :D

I have a V4 that I've been running at 18v. I do notice a difference from when I ran it at 9v. It does add some oomph and shimmer to the pedal when you run it at 18v. I definitely noticed it when I switched back to 9v. It just didn't have the same feel as when it was juiced. I'd suggest, if you have a newer one, to try running it at 18v.

is the newer one the one with arrows around the knobs?
and the v3 is the most sought after?

i quite like the V1 OCD, id like to compare it to the other versions (ive heard gearmandudes shootout)
FWIW

heres the CB demo i did with the voltage shootouts...

18v sounds a bit clearer and powerful with the gain at 1 o'clock onwards, at the lower settings the difference seems hardly noticeable , good vid
