Thats how EJ does it! They tend to work better into a slightly broken up amp vs a clean amp. Through the clean channel they can bit a little harsh, although a cool tone for something different at times as well..

Yes, fuzzes can sound pretty harsh into a cleaner setup. If you have a super clean amp just cascade another overdrive type pedal after the fuzz. I use an Irdium fuzz after both of my Berkos fuzzes and it sounds really good and organic when you want that genre vibe. Really exciting to walk up to a gig staring at some clean combo amp sitting there and knocking it out of the park when you plug it in. The Jan Ray Venuram can be used as a second stage as well.
