Here's a clip from last night in AZ
He had 2 of his Randall heads on top of 2 randall 4x12s
Only 1 was plugged in and on
There was an older vintage looking combo in between, I assume for cleans(?)
But back stage facing the other way he had a Soldano & a Friedman both plugged in and fired up
I'm not sure how it was wired, but they were in there
I have a few more clips & pics I could post
Good show. George played well. The tone probably needed some more low end punch to go with his trebly attack, but it was solid as is

cool... thanks for the report. have any of those backstage rig pics?

Ok who stole georges tone???? You can give it back now!! :gethim: :D

The one Randall on the left side of my first pic below was on and had a cord plugged into the input
A few times during the performance he went over to it and was twiddling, so the Randall was involved in some way
The Randall on the right was not on

the front side of George's Rig

This shows the back of the rig including the Friedman on top of the Soldano

soundcheck

Here's his axes- he seemed to play that black & green most:

Yes, it seemed a bit on the trebly side
But to be fair, the sound system was less than impressive. The kick drum sounded massive, but in general there was an ice pick high end over everything all night long. A bit painful unless you were way in the back of the crowd, like where the sound guys were, lol
Plus, the audio was being captured on my iphone- not known for top level sound capture- decent, but not great

Lynch's tone has always been on the trebly side. Look at all his guitars, maple bodies on several and if you look at close up pics of the tiger the bridge pickup route was made wider so he could shift the pickup closer to the bridge to make it brighter. Even his tele has a reverse angled bridge pickup so it's brighter on the wound strings.

Here's a decent vid from the 2/22/14 show from Lynch's side so it's mostly guitar and drum heavy audio...

I only listened to the first song in the second vid, but when he busts into that solo its just a reminder of why Lynch is one of my all time favs

I love how Lynch is a guitar god and rather than mess with complicated switching and routing, he just throws pedals on the floor and throws his amps on the floor. 4k amp? Meh whatever, I'm George Lynch! Not sure why he even bothers with the second generation lynch boxes. Maybe as a back up? They are ugly as sin.

Anybody know if he uses the crunch channel + boost (his preferred method it seems) or if he uses the lead channel?

LOL endorsement integrity..

It must be hard to make a buck in the buis..

BTW, where were they playing? The stage is surrounded by a bunch of shipping containers..

It's called 910 Live in Tempe AZ
It's an outdoor venue in an industrial neighborhood
Cool place

He is awesome, top three favorite guitarists for me. Wish he would come out to New York. I don't care if he uses his signature amps or not, music is a business and getting endorsements to get your name out there is part of it. I am just surprised he doesn't do something with Marshall or Friedman.

Would love to see Lynch with Marshall or Friedman, but I do respect his "loyalty" to Randall. I went to one of his clinics, and sat in front of him while he played through a stock sig head/cab. He still sounded great, naturally.

George is a huge gear freak but the one thing I've noticed that he almost always goes back to or has a Soldano SLO somewhere in his set up!
