A few thoughts ...

a] huge Lynch fan since 1982'

b] If ur tweaking ur amps during the show ur doing it wrong.

c] If you're playing an SLO or Friedman you shouldn't be hiding it.

He sounds great in the long clip and those 2011 clips are pretty sweet as well.

I am not sure what he is up to with Randall, but his name is on a bunch of stuff

Hope the newer band is as good going forward.

Here's when I saw him.

That looks like the Tailgater's show LP! I was at that one too! George actually sounded good there.

Incidently I saw George at a Guitar Clinic a few years back and he was actually really nice and talked about his old gear to me quite a bit I was surprised, a lot of people say he is not so nice in person. He was using the Lynchbox amp for the clinic and it hissed horribly and was quite the embarrassment for Randall I'm sure. He actually made it sound alright, he kept saying it was his old delay pedal causing the problems...

Yep Tailgater's. George was on fire that night.

He doesn't use the Randall's they're just for show.

Do you know that for a fact or are you speculating? At the '12 M3 show he used nothing but his sig heads, but that's not a normal gig.

That's likely to be the most ridiculous statement that I'll read all day...maybe all week. You don't gig, do you? If you do, I'll discuss why it's ridiculous...if you don't, you have no business even talking about it.

Very true.
Every room (or space) is different and you don't always get things dialed in like you prefer, at sound check. Sometimes there is not time for a sound check if you are late, etc. That room or space can dynamically change when people come in and take up space, bodies dampen the sound, etc. Different guitars (wood, pickups, etc) may require different settings to attain different things...and sometimes you have to do it on the fly. Lastly, if you are a tone freak, there will always be tweaks

Also, as far as the Friedman and Slo placement, he gets money from amps sold with his name associated with them.
If he doesn't get endorsed by a certain company, but likes using their amps........he put the money makers out front where people will see them, and in turn buy them. However, the amps that he is using are obscured, as to not dissuade or confuse potential amp buyers and fans. Might not be fair, but the fair only comes to town once a year, and George has to eat :D

The show I was at it was on stage but not plugged in. He had a Friedman and a Soldano behind tha cabinets.

Are those cabs mic'ed with the E906? I'm interested in picking one up.. can't decide between that and the 609.

Here was Lynch's "front" rig when I saw the 'Mob 3 years ago.

Other guys that were at that show said he had a Marsha behind the Soldano that he used. The guitar tech actually played the Soldano rig for a few rhythm sections. I guess at some shows George has in fact used the LB103 heads but it's rare. It might have been made in response to the 5153 but it actually is a good sounding amp. Quality may be another story as it's basically beefed up version of an entry level Randall RT100.

Maybe George should schmooz Marshall for a sig amp so he can play ENGL's ...

Here's a clip from last night in AZ
He had 2 of his Randall heads on top of 2 randall 4x12s
Only 1 was plugged in and on
There was an older vintage looking combo in between, I assume for cleans(?)
But back stage facing the other way he had a Soldano & a Friedman both plugged in and fired up
I'm not sure how it was wired, but they were in there
I have a few more clips & pics I could post
Good show. George played well. The tone probably needed some more low end punch to go with his trebly attack, but it was solid as is

Looks like an old Magnatone M series combo. I'd guess the M7 as it looks like a 15" speaker.

Never been a fan of the guys that use one and show another. Especially someone like Lynch where 90% of the people there are gear nuts that know it's complete bull crap. I know it's all about the money but still.

That basket weave Marchall cab is the only constant in the pics. What speakers does he use?

Not a "basket weave", its a chequerboard grill, they came in small check and large check, late 70's were small, but the small replacement grill cloth doesn't exist anywhere. You can get the large check, Marshall still makes the large check cabs too.

This is basket weave.

Guarantee he's not using his "Lynchback speaks".

Saw him in 2012 at bb kings in NY. He had two of his sig heads on stage but he was playing through a Wizard Modern Classic. He was on that night! I wish he would come to the east coast again!!!
