Mulberries?

Kept silkworms for about a decade as a kid. Love 'em to this day. Mulberry leaves as default diet and red cabbage for pink / red cocoons.

Great pets for kids for their educational value I reckon.

Buddy of mine managed to get an entire, huge Mulberry tree to become infested with silkworms. Not an easy feat considering the fact that they're easy pickins for birds, what with being white or black-and-white striped, super-slow and not exhibiting warning colouration or possessing spikes or hairs.

I don't think these trees would survive where I live now (southern Aus), but over in South Africa they thrived.

Yep, I get $10 per tray for them at the market.
