OMG. $685 for the tangerine with the pickguard.

Must resist!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do it, shit man less than $700 for a very good guitar.

Go for it. If you don't like it you can just sell it back for what you paid.

Buying something like an Anderson without playing it is something i would do again. I trust them to make a great sounding guitar. I would alo buy a Gibson because more times than not, it's going to sound how i want it to.

I took a chance on the Charvel and made a mistake because IMHO it was a dud tonewise and i really don't like it when frets start sticking out past the fretboard 2 weeks after i own it. I could have spent some more money on it for a pickup swap and to file the frets but i didn't feel like it.

I saw that too, and almost jumped at it, but I want H/S/S and that takes my cost up even higher, and with some guys like danyeo giving a few bad reports of tone, I decided to stay away. I still want it really bad though.

It's just a matter of opinion on what i like tonewise that's all. Dave's Charvel sounded better than mine but he threw in a set of Aldrich pickups, what do those run? $180? But i still didn't like certain things about his either. I think i would like a solid Mahoganey bodied one over Alder because, for me, that would sound better for hard rock and metal tones. It's just a matter of taste that's all.

The Charvels do play real nice if you like the neck shape and mine did play great right out of the box, and the fit and finish was really good.

Any guitar can be a dud tonewise, and fretboard edges can shrink with drastic climate or humidity changes. I had a nice wolfgang that did that, took me about 5 minutes to file the fret edges down, wasn't a big deal.

You're going to take chances like that with any guitar bought sight unseen, not just the Charvels. Just my opinion. I love both of mine, they are terrific guitars.

I had a couple of Suhrs that once I got over how amazing they looked and played I just couldn't get a tone out of them that I loved. danyeo didn't like the tone of his Charvel. He also didn't like the tone of his $2000+ Suhr Reb Beach model. My point? There is no one guitar, one tone wood, one pickup for everybody. We all like different things. There are TONS of good reviews on these guitars and there will always be some that don't dig them.

I have a very wealthy friend. He had a Ferrari 360 and a Ferrari 355 before that. He got rid of both of them because he just didn't like the seating position or the "ergonomics" of the steering wheel to the seat to the pedals. Now he has an Aston Martin that he loves. Know what I mean?

You're friends with James Bond???

Sorry, that's the first thing I thought of when I read your post

out of the too many guitars I own is it my best sounding one? No it is not but it is a good solid sounding guitar and it is one of my better feeling guitars and that is what is important to me...the feel. Great neck.

The three that sound better, two were at least $400 more, one about a grand more but is not as easy to play, and one freak Ibanez that cost me $450. Great value imo.

I did change the bridge pup in mine and will be changing the volume pot soon.

Screw it, I bought it. If nothing else, I should be able to get my money back out if it if I hate it.

I love mine!!!

I'll probably change it to HSS, and add a tone pot, but I'm looking forward to getting it, and my son is too, I'm going to start teaching him to play on it.

Agreed on all points. It's all just personal taste. I always try to love Superstrats but i end up usually going back to a Les Paul or something similiar. This forum would be boring if we all liked the same stuff.

I'm the same way, and I have NO doubt whatsoever that this guitar will be blown away tonally by my Les Pauls, but I'm not looking to get one for my main guitar to replace the Les Paul. I've gotten rid of almost all of my "Super Strats" and Strats because I only really play Les Pauls, but I want something with a Floyd again, and something HSS that I can use on some songs with my band. I may hate it too. We'll see.

Throw a Yngwie pre-wired guard in there!!! Yeah I know about the hum you said in the bridge :D

It will not sound like a LP, but hopefully it will have a nice mids thing going for you. I am willing to bet you will like the neck.
