I really dig the basic tone, but there is definitely some sort of rattle happening on the high end. I've noticed it in my plexi's cranked to a small degree - but it's never been as loud on a recording as loud as it is on this recording.
If I'm hearing what you are hearing, it sounds like it may be something to do with the digital format rather than the tone itself. Like a distortion/artifact I hear on top of a lot of mp3's to varying degrees, depending on how loud I have my speakers as to how much I hear it. The tone itself is pretty sweet.

you know you guys are a great, established company. dont go backwards by using the marshall look. Do a whole new thing with that hot rodded older sound. There are too many who just use the exact faceplate and box. Granted everyone is similar but just my opinion your doing yourelf a dis-service? is that a word. I heard someone use it once.

just my opion. my amps dont even support me yet so what do I know.

This has absolutely nothing to do with Wizard. My association with Wizard is basically as an endorsed artist who demos the amps at shows. I also field internet sales for them but I don't work for Wizard as a payed employee
This amp building is something I am doing for fun in my spare time. I don't plan on starting an amp company since I am quite busy producing and doing session work. If I land up making 10 of these a year , it would be a lot. Again. This has absolutely nothing to do with Wizard

oh sorry. You have a great tone..get creative with the shell and stuff. :)

The amp is based off a 68 plexi Metroamp kit (and won't cost much more than having one done by them without the mods). I would never bother trying to build from scratch. Way too time consuming for me.

I'd say it has more to do with your mic position than a flaw with the amp itself. 57 should never go direct center of speaker cone.

Although I don't really hear it ,not even through my ADAM S3X-H monitors, what ever fizziness people might percieve may be because of the 57 being center placed. I always mic them anywhere from 1/2 way to the edge right up to 1" from the edge but so many people center mic with 57's that I did it that way for reference. I usually use 2 or even 3 mics. Maybe a fathead II for bottom along with a 57 and a Heil PR30. Kel HM1.......... Once in a while I may even get energetic and throw up an 87

alls i'm sayin is you could turn the treble down a few notches for my tastes lol.
otherwise it sounds good.

Yah I understand. It's personal taste. Sound is a subjective thing. For instance...... I just listened to your clip in your sig and to me it sounds like there's a wet blanket over the speakers........ but hey! Look at my room. maybe I'm just deaf. ;)

yeah the top one is "ok", but the next like 2 or 3 had bad mic placement. and other than that those were recorded on a boss BR that i never really tried to learn how to use really good lol. but yes i do dial it in with low treble/presence.
but the one at the top right now is a pretty close representation of what it sounds like - with my RG anyways lol. i have the presence on like 1.5, and the treble on 5 lol. i guess having it as a stock TSL gave me a complex about fizziness lol

    ;) I don't think the clip has too much treble.
I think what I hear and what a few guys are speaking about, almost sounds like a mic not being able to handle what you're throwing at it.
Mic placement  er... maybe ?
Or more like the recording set up just not capturing the whole signal without caving in with the upper frequencies...
Prolly due to high volume knowing you Steve......

I like it!

But I like a lot of presence and highs when I play.
Dont like the 'blanket over the cab' sound as you mentioned.
I think it sounds great thru the crappy monitor speakers I have here at work!
Can only imagine what it sounds like in person.

Treble is fine with me, sounds like a great plexi with a good pedal in front

Glad I came back to this with proper monitors.

Sounds killer as usual. The high treble sounds awesome IMO. would cut instantly thru any mix
