mandatory "standby" for endorsement purposes! :D

I also find his rythm tones on everything after the first two lynchmob albums to be softer sounding.. not enough cut. The stuff he does now needs more cut.

I saw a recent interview with George where he was working on a solid state amp with Randall. He mentioned like the ones he used on tooth and nail and called them the good ones. If I can find the interview I will link it here. For what is worth.....I love his tone on that album!

The original RG80es/RG100es heads are the good ones he's referring to. I have a RG80es I'll never sell from that time period. Those were the best offerings Randall ever hads in a SS amp design, the magic is in the transistors/FETS used at the time.

Just cause a great player doesn't need tubes, doesn't mean I won't. I mean look at Pete Thorn, I am sure he could make a gorilla tube cruncher amp sound good.

I've been talking to his daughter Mariah about getting to see that room full of gear. ;)

George helped Randall in the design of the RG80es/100's. Not sure to what extent, but he was part of it. Lynch has helped with a few amp designs:

* Randall RG80
* Uberschall (I'm almost sure about this)
* Peavey XXX & Penta amp (supposed to be the Brahma)

I don't know man to me george's only good recorded tone is on the wicked sensation (for the tones I dig anyway....to be more specific "for a million years" is about as good as 80's/hair metal/etc tone gets) so I won't be rushing out and copying him in a hurry

George goes through gear so often it is sort of a fools game (just imo) buying a piece of gear because of a photo of his stuff it's just a singular point in time and most likely he will have moved on to the next thing anyway.

I love George's playing and he was a huge influence on me but when you're a hard core flipper/endorser it dilutes the value of his endorsement somewhat.

In the wake of everything he has played through/used was some very cool stuff though imo he just doesn't stick around for long for the most part although I'm sure there are exceptions.

Maybe, or it could be the Kemper on his night stand in his bedroom. Maybe even a Pink Taco in his bathroom..lol. It's George...It doesn't matter   Give it a few months and you'll see a D-Moll and BE-100 in his studio. He already has a Dirty Shirley and a Naked. Plus the Slime Herbert

Sounds like this could be an AxeFX!

He had a Marsha before any of the other Friedman amps.

He still sounds the best to me through a boosted plexi (or a Rockman :D )

I guess I'm just stuck in the past (which I'm ok with). I need more of these tones.

I got george the axe 2 a while ago and Mark Day went to his studio and programed it for him. George loves the Axe FX for the studio.

Mark you suck

seriously joking aside . lucky man very very cool

So Tell us was he difficult to work with lol??

What Axe models does he like best??

George is a sweetheart of a guy. He's funny, soft spoken and great to hang with. I set him up with a bunch of Friedman tones and I think some Fenderish things. He was playing so well. It was awesome to sit there with him for a day. Great guy.

Mark
