I had a 80's Gibson V exactly like the one in the OP, unfortunately no matter what pickup I tried in it, sounded way too dark and wouldn't cut in a mix, got rid of it pretty quickly!
Same price as the 70's white model. Surprised since this has no binding, (unless I'm blind). Pretty plain for the $$$.. I've been more tempted getting the standard natural, throwing a black pickguard on, speed knobs, and have a poor man's '58 vibe.
