What never ceases to amaze me to no end is that a segment of the population totaling about 2% on a good day is so over and beyond obsessed about reminding the rest of us what they do with their genitalia on a daily basis...

Like get over yourselves already...

Maybe because they are practically the last group of people that most other people have no problem discriminating against.

Cool! Gibson introduces yet another guitar I have absolutely zero interest in buying. I don't know how many that makes, but it's been the identical outcome for 28 years....

Well, I imagine the market was pretty small for a one-off guitar that they built and donated to that organization anyway. The sales wont be very good for a model they aren't actually going to produce, with or without your business. ;)

I think that you've had an overdose. I live in one of the gayest cities in the US(Minneapolis) and I've seen discrimination.

When someone puts another person down, often they double down. When people are oppressed, the pendulum swings back. That's what gave us the black panthers and hardcore feminism. This time we got happy buff dudes, wearing thongs in a parade....and I guess this crappy looking guitar.

So, you live in a really gay city. I guess youre an expert. Congrats.

Btw, I spent some time in Minneapolis last year on business. Awesome city! In fact, I'd like to go back on vacation just for the hell of it.

LOL. Went to a Chinese buffet I recall was called Happy Moon. Asians lined up around the building. I saw that and said we gotta eat here. If every Asian in MN is waiting outside it's gotta be legit. And it was.

I'm embarrassed for you.

I don't want to make this thread 20 pages long, so I'll try to keep it short

I'm not an expert, anecdotal evidence(like what I posted) for the most part means nothing, and if people are just of a different generation, and aren't used to the banana slinged men at pride, I understand. But around 30%(2010) of the US think that "...gay or lesbian relations between consenting adults..." should be illegal, 40%(2012) think that being gay is morally wrong and 35%(2011) think that gays should not be able to raise children. By not being married, gay couples miss out on 1,138 benefits that married couples get. Around 26% of children that come out to their parents are told they must leave home. Those are some of the numbers, now for more Anecdotal evidence :D When I was in 5th grade, I went to fundamentalist private school. I remember the principle of many years came out and was forced to leave. They told us that it was best if we didn't talk about him, and no one did, publicly. A lot of people dropped someone, whom they liked and seemingly cared for, like a bad habit. Gays are discriminated against for their sexuality more than straight people are, to claim otherwise is false.

Haven't heard of that one, are you sure it wasn't Super Moon?

Yeah, it was Super Moon. That place was crazy. They had buffet row in the back for straight-up Chinese people that I had no idea what that shit was but they were eating it like it was Chinese crack.

Rainbows are awesome. When I was a kid and found out gays stole it I was pretty upset. Why are rainbows associated with gays anyway?
This ^

And lesbians use a dolphin pic.... :scared:

Different colours represent sexual diversity (gay, bisexual, transgender, whatever else is out there)

Also the word "gay"

"In addition to its original and continuing senses of “merry, lively” and “bright or showy,” gay has had various senses dealing with sexual conduct since the 17th century. A gay woman was a prostitute, a gay man a womanizer, a gay house a brothel. This sexual world included homosexuals too, and gay as an adjective meaning “homosexual” may go back to the late 1930s. After World War II, as social attitudes toward sexuality began to change, gay was applied openly by homosexuals to themselves, first as an adjective and later as a noun. Today, the noun often designates only a male homosexual: gays and lesbians. The word has ceased to be slang and is not used disparagingly. Homosexual as a noun is sometimes used only in reference to a male"

It's now used as an insult or even pejorative adjective unrelated to homosexualty

I have nothing against gay/lesbian people, in fact I find someone's sexual preferences a pretty trivial matter.

What I don't like is the advertising of any preference. Groups that claim to want to be treated the same are the same ones advertising their differences.

So if I understand you correctly then the Flinstones theme song written in 1966 was a slam to homosexuals????....
The last line of that tune is "We'll have a gay old time"
