Considering roughly only 10% of all Gibsons are truly great guitars, yeah, fuck Gibson

Love Les Pauls. I own five of them. One Epiphone, one Edwards, one Bacchus, one Greco, one Gibson.

The Gibson is the big boy of the group but it's a very special guitar.

Do I love Gibson? I think they do some corny shit. And I'm a tinkerer, I don't mix great with high dollar gear.

Who's hating on Gibson? Let me at him! Flying sweep kick to the face! Epiphone haters too! Nothing can stop what coming!

I’ve tried so many other guitars. Les Pauls are #1 for me and it’s not even close. Can’t replicate the feel, midrange response, etc…

ESP’s are great build quality but don’t hold up to a good Les Paul.
the only singlecut i've tried that's on par with LP's is Knaggs Eric Steckel model - doesn't feel exactly like the LP but it's very close and they sound fantastic. Agree on the ESP - they look cool but are nothing like a Les Paul.

I like when the only a gibson is good enough guys get a new axe and the first move is to rip the pickups out. It's almost as funny as me buying a knockoff and then putting Gibson pickups in it
I think it's fair to say that most of us here have done that no matter what our preference for guitar brands might be.

I will say of all the Gibson's I've swapped pickups in it's mostly been Gibson appropriate pickups or Gibson brand pickups. I just happen to love the more "play authentic" tone of a P90 in the bridge paired with an A5 Staple or Dearmond type in the neck. For single coils I've got Gibson P90's, BG Pure 90's, Duncan Staple, Lollar Staple, Lollar Gold Foil, TV Jones T-Armond, and a Duncan Dynabucker in most of my Gibsons. In my LP Studio I swapped in a '70s Gibson Tarback at the bridge and a TV Jones Supertron at the neck to replace the Carvin pickups someone had put in it. I figured I needed at least one guitar with humbuckers. 😁

Yeah unfortunately I have to be more selective with my purchases because some of the Les Pauls have those ones you cant easily swap out.

I played my eclipse for years thought no les Paul will dethrone it, I got a standard from John ( Hendrix avatar) on here, the eclipse is a case queen now

I like how you have duplicates of everything. Prepared for gigs!!! Two is one, one is none. Nice axes angel. Love the silverburst midtown more than I thought I'd like that scheme on a semi. Looks great!!
Thanks brother...I love those Midtown Customs!!! Part Les Paul Custom...Part 335...killer tone. That Silverburst Midtown is a one off true custom shop. Several guys here in LA have made me crazy offers on it...Can't let her go.

For as long as I remember I always kept a good Les Paul in the stable and grab to play it once in a while. To regularly remind myself why I don’t want another one ever again. This has reliably taken care of Gibson GAS for me. Same approach never worked for my Suhr or Tom Anderson guitars however.

My guitars have to be 24 fret necks in 25.5" scale. Plus I've never cared for the Gibson neck. I got a Les Paul DC with a 24 fret neck thinking it would be my Gibson, but I couldn't jive with the shorter scale length. My Jarretts get a similar sound, but feel better with the 25.5" scale.
The Gibson Victory what came out a few months ago is 24 fret, 25.5" scale...yes 25.5" scale, not a typo.  Hot pickups, ebony fretboard and a fast shredder neck. Great access to the highest frets too.
Yeah, I'm kind of lost on what would be a good Gibson substitute that has a contoured body shape like a Strat. Love the sustain of the Gibson, but I need something more comfortable on the stomach / ribs.
The Victory is contoured where it goes aginst your ribs and stomach and got a forearm contour too. The pickups got sustain. "You can go have a bite, you'll still be hearin' that one."
