GIBSON SG: Didn't remember how great they are.

I bought the Angus Young SG VOS last week and this guitar ROCKS. If you can get along with the thin and narrow neck you will get one helluva guitar.

Congrats did you get the newest version of this axe? Not even sure if its out yet.

My first real guitar (purchased in 1984) was an almost mint-condition 1967 SG Deluxe identical to the current Robbie Krieger model.

I had no idea how great a guitar it was and ended up selling it in the early 90s.
Man, I could make that sucker sing now....Idiot.

I'm always surprised at how thick SGs sound compared to LPs, even though they're so much thinner/lighter. I love the thin neck, but I'm also a huge fan of an LP that breaks my back.

i know its not a gibson but someone should jump on this lowel. i got mine a few weeks ago and couldnt be happier.

I got an SG supreme a while back. When I have the money I plan to get another, but I'm thinking about specing out a Lowel first (SG or Tele style, not sure yet).

Over time my '80 SG has pretty much became my #1. Best guitar I've ever played. Everything about it the best I could ever want. I love it so much that I was deeply worried about it getting damaged or stolen, either at a gig or on the way to or home from a gig, so I bought a 2008 '61 reissue to use as my gigging SG. Stupid move. The '61 reissue was a piece of shit compared to my '80. Crappy wood, crappy tone, crappy hardware & electronics, etc.. All this being said, if anyone knows of any '80 SGs for sale, I'll buy 'em immediately.

I played on some dude's SG a long time ago. I thought it sounded killer....whipped out every AC/DC riff I knew at the time.

I sold my Gibson Tony Iommi Signature SG due to the guitar being so neck heavy. The guitar played and sounded great though. Same with the Gibson SG supreme I tried out in the store before getting the TI SG. I wish I would have tried the SG supreme standing up.

Never tried an Iommi SG, did you have the custom shop?

It was a GOW and it only had 2 pickups,which is why I bought it.It has MotorCity Solutions in it and it absolutely breathes fire It sounds similar to the andy but the andy has a fat mid and a warmer botton,both kill tho,but I do loves the SG!!! Bro that Angus model is sick,I'm drooling!!!!!
